Kaylee had found a thing! And okay, she wasn't rightly sure what it was, but it had parts and she could poke at it and maybe build something new.

Ah, the joys of discovering a new planet's technology.

[I have taken myself to see Sex and the City, since no one will come with me omgwtf people, and will be back midafternoon to pick up pings!]

The speakers used for Jarvis crackled to life suddenly. "...how big are your hands?"

That certainly wasn't Jarvis, though.

Kaylee stared around, dropping her...thingie. "Um. ...Mr. Stark?"

If there was ever a silence that implied a big 'Duh' there, this was it.

"Your hands, how big are they?"

"...normal-sized? Kinda small, I guess?" she replied, getting over her tiny wee shock.

"I need you in the workroom." The comm shut off with a quiet little click before he could give her a chance to respond.

Kaylee frowned a little, but headed back. "Sir?"

Tony waved idly from a chair next to his workbench. There was the slow and even beep of monitors nearby. His heart beat.

"Hands. Lemme see 'em," He insisted, idly moving the now glowing device he had her work on last week between his hands.

Kaylee held up both hands, turning them so he could see both sides. "Everything okay?"

He frowned in concentration, nodding.

"Right. Very petite," Tony said, holding out the arc reactor. "I just need your help for a moment."

Kaylee frowned a little, going over to take the arc reactor. "Sure thing! What do you need, sir?"

Fiddling with the metal object on his chest for a moment, Tony glanced up once at the question. "I hit a little speedbump replacing this and need your help with--" There was a noise of metal against metal as he pulled the thing out to hand to her as well. "This."

Kaylee was full-on staring now, taking the other thingie. "Oh my -- Are you okay, Mr. Stark? What's that do? Do you need me to get a doctor? There's a...big metal hole in your chest."

You know, in case he didn't know.

"Yes it's all very interesting," Tony said dismissively. "It's for the miniature arc reactor in your hand. Now there's this exposed wire in there and if you could just..."

"Oh! Oh, I get it!" Kaylee was just happy that she wasn't completely useless, and that he was okay. She carefully sneaked her hand up, her fingertips just barely going in to get the wire. "Um. Is there anything I need to be careful of so I don't hurt you or nothin'?"

"Just don't let it touch the side of the socket walls. Like Operation."

"Operation? I ain't really trained in surgery," she said, carefully slipping her hand down to gently snag the wire. "So, um. Shouldn't someone not-me be doin' this?"

"You'll do fine, just..." He made a slight face at the touch. "...find the wire."

Kaylee nodded, carefully winding the wire through her fingers, gently tugging. "Promise I ain't hurtin' you?"

"I'm fine," He assured her calmly. "Now just slowly pull the wire out."

Kaylee carefully tugged the wire out. "What happens if it hits the side?"

"Just don--" He jumped as the buzz from the copper touching was heard. "--don't! Don't do that!"

"Sorry!" Kaylee only barely refrained from flailing, and only because she didn't want to hurt him worse. "Are you okay? What'd I do?"

"Be careful about the sides," Tony repeated, trying to sound calm so she'd stay calm. "...just gently pull it out."

Kaylee nodded, very gently pulling the wire.

And then not so gently pulling, because it felt like it was stuck on something.

Oh, hey, a metal thing.

"Crap! What did I do?"

"...gently because of the base." The slow beeps sped up very very quickly at that. "Gentle doesn't include yanking."
