He'd brought a little container with the last of the soup for Millie, stashed it under the counter, and started neatening up the shop. Dusting, straightening, checking the books... he liked being a good employee and for Millie especially, so it was all done before it was actually time to open. At that point, he pulled out the tea and cookies, turned the sign on the door, and opened it to let in the warm breeze.

A book was pulled from the back for him to read. Once he had it, he took up his post behind the counter to wait for the customers.

The Book Haven was open.

He tapped the page, a melody playing between his ears.

In between considering the articles, Liir considered buying a music player. It was on the edge of that strange machine/tik tok line, of course, but just on the side of machine to the point where he felt it might be nice to have the music around. He'd have to stop by the Turtle & Canary to see if he could get such a thing. He should have enough in savings if it wasn't too expensive...
