Wellspring Arms & Meditation Center, Saturday

Well, there was one advantage this job had over the old one: at least she could carry a rifle. Even if she didn't have her C-10 around here, she'd been able to liberate another rifle that couldn't have possibly been from this point in time from one of the back lockers.

Not that Kerrigan would take it out of the store-- then she'd have to deal with the owner again-- and of course he would only carry these things unloaded. But just the heavy weight of the gun in her hands had something strangely soothing about it, and soon, she was humming something tuneless to herself as she paced anxious little eights through the store.

Worf entered Wellspring arms and nodded at Kerrigan respectfully.

"Good day. Is the meditation room available?" he asked gruffly.

"Good."

Worf paused a moment before entering the room.

"If you do not mind me asking," Worf stated, almost standing at attention, "What planet do you originate from?"

No. He certainly did not.

"What quadrant is your system located?" he asked looking momentarily confused.

"That would be impossible," Worf replied gruffly. "No one could traverse that great distance of space. It would take sixty years to get here."

Yesterday had been good. Hanging out on tropical beaches was nice. But parts of Juli's conversation was still stuck in his head. So he hefted his rifle down to the arms center.

He slowed and blinked when he spotted the woman? behind the counter. "Uh, hi. I'm here to use the range." He was trying not to stare, but this was the first time he'd seen...well, she had to be an alien. Right? First time alien encounter. "Please?" he added.

Murdock blinked again and managed to regain some composure. "Sorry. Yah," he nodded, "Should be on there. HM Murdock. Cable cleared me for using it a week or so ago."

He stepped closer to the desk. "Sorry about the whole staring bit. That was rude."

He frowned a little. "Sorry. I've just never seen an extraterrestrial before." He gave her a quick studying glance, not staring, just familiarizing himself her. "Still doesn't excuse my initial reaction though. Sorry."

Hmmm... the person in the shop wasn't Cable, and wasn't a short blond girl. He wasn't sure what she WAS, but... He might actually have some success this time?

Sokka walked in, trying to appear confident. "I'd like to buy a gun!" he announced.

Sokka stared at her and turned bright red.

"It's NOT a ponytail!"

Sokka blinked. And stared at her. And blinked. And peered closer. And jumped back, startled. "AAAAGH! I didn't recognize you with all the... green! It's a good look on you! Stylish!"

And the words never made it to his lips, but they were right there in the front of his mind: Well, I just asked YOU for a gun. Does that qualify as 'about to die'?

After talking with Kerrigan, Worf settled down into his regular mok'bara routine, moving quickly and gracefully through the katas.

Engineered people. Built to act as soldiers in some cases. Kids having to fight in battles. What was this island going to throw at him next?

He fired off a couple of rounds, most of them went wild. He groaned. He kept at it though, missing several times during the course of his practice.
