All around town, Friday evening

There were ghosts in the streets of Fandom, so many ghosts, as if the gates of death had opened and set them free.

They were pale and lost, aimlessly wandering, confused and alone.

Outside MCA

After a handwavey dinner with Nathan, Peter left MCA to start the walk back to the dorms. He wasn't yet aware of weirdness.

Peter frowned. He had the strangest feeling like he wasn't alone. He paused and looked around.

Trick of the light or no, Peter still had a feeling like he wasn't alone. He frowned harder and said "Hello?"

"Whoa, wait." Peter held his hands up but did not step back because he's a moron. "Who are you?"

Okay, that was a new sensation. Peter couldn't stop her and he felt weaker at the touch. "What are you doing? What do you want?"

"Hang on." Peter tried to take a step back. "Not again, okay?"

Walking down Apocalypse Avenue

Harriet had been working late, very late, and she wasn't paying a great deal of attention as she walked home, a bag of cat food under one arm.

Outside Atlas Gym

Tyler stepped outside the gym after his workout, unaware of anything odd about town. Yet something made him run his hands over his arms and wish for a jacket -- he usually felt so warm after exercising, but somehow not tonight.

Again with the weak feeling. Peter stepped back, again trying to get a safe distance - assuming such a thing was possible.

She shivered, suddenly cold, and her eyes widened as she saw the ghost. She didn't break stride, kept walking, but she eased away slightly. "I don't have time to be haunted," she said firmly. "If you want to come back after the new term starts, I'll be able to fit you in."

Okay, even Peter could see this wasn't going to end well. Besides, he had more than himself to think about.

So he took advantage of flight and got the hell out of there so he could get back to Nathan's apartment by way of the balcony.

Hopefully Nathan had enough salt on hand to put some lines down.

The chill had to just be a breeze, and he was being a wuss to even think about it. As he started his walk home, he casually glanced around, including a quick squint over his shoulder, just to prove to himself how stupid he was being.

Harriet gasped as cold like pain shot down her arm, and she stumbled, dropping the cat food, suddenly weak.

But waiting around for bad things to get you was not a good way to survive, and so she scrambled backwards, lurching to her feet.

Outside the Perk

It was probable that because she'd been so immersed in her research that could explain why Juli hadn't yet noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Leaving the Perk, coffee in hand, she started heading back to her apartment.
