Work still needed to be done, but last night had been surprisingly productive for Tony. He vaguely wondered if the woman was still up there, but remembered J.A.R.V.I.S. would take care of her if she needed something before leaving.

Just had to tighten a few things...

Well that was just sloppy work there.

Not that Tony ever planned to share the suit he was making, but... there were records. Just in case.

"From how long ago exactly?"

"1941."

"Huh."

Tony frown again. His father could have helped with that project...

"Yeah. I should really get going, I uh. Have to bake Deadpool a cake."

"...do I even want to know?"

"He dragged me out of the underworld, is all," Steve explained with a shrug.

"...Okay then." He really wasn't going to ask. At all.

Although now he needed a drink.

"Scotch?"

"I can't get drunk," Steve warned him.

Tony already had two glasses ready.

"Is that a no?"

And filled.

"I'm just telling you it won't do anything," Steve said. "Uh. Are you sure you want to drink that?"

Pressing the glass at him, Tony rolled his eyes and took a deep sip. "Yes, Pepper."

Steve rolled his eyes back at him and took a sip of the scotch. "I don't look half as good in heels."

Tony snorted. "Did you just make a joke?"

"Well, I tried," Steve told him.

"Then maybe the scotch is working," Tony replied, toasting him.

"The scotch isn't working," Steve told him, but toasted him back for form's sake.

Tony would get him drunk or die trying.

Or something.

"Give it time."

"It can have all the time it wants. I'm metabolically incapable of getting drunk," Steve informed him.

"Well that's just no fun at all," Tony informed him. "How the hell do you have a good time?"

"I draw. I paint. I work out. I listen to music. I annoy you. Sometimes I save the world. That's fun," Steve said wryly.

"You need to get out more," Tony said, refilling his own glass and offering the bottle to him. "You sound like you're an old man."

A beat.

"Other than the saving the world part."

Steve shook his head at the bottle, then grinned and tilted his head back; told Tony, "I'll be ninety-one next Friday."

"...Well. I'll have to get you something then."

Or have Pepper find something for a 91 year old.

"Well you seem to know me well enough," Tony said, waving dismissively.
