Pixie Dust, Tuesday, July 8
The very nice thing about Romeo's last class being first period was that it meant he could just open the shop after class, instead of needing to leave and come back. The other nice thing about the day was that it was warmer, almost a temperature he considered fit for humans.
So, all things considered, he was in a decent enough sort of mood as he set up for his shift. Once the more hideous of the new arrivals were consigned to the back room and the window display was updated to offer a hopeful array of beachwear, he settled behind the counter with a magazine.
Pixie Dust was open, to humans or polar bears alike.

Mod Your Shopping [7/08]
Re: Mod Your Shopping [7/08]
She liked it.
A look at the prices assured her that the place was quite reasonable (and also, the only one in town) and it was with a faint glow of triumph that she purchased a blue dress in what she approximated to be a more modern style. She also bought a number of undergarments, as she assumed they would be necessary for a modern dress, even though she, yes Abby Irene, felt a bit scandalized just to pick them up in a storefront.
She made her purchases and moved on, quite a bit more cheerful than she'd been the last few days. She'd gotten ample sleep (Mary was relieved), had a lovely breakfast (Mary was amazed), and she had a class to teach as well as lunch to go to tomorrow.
Richard and her secondary exile aside, she felt rather good.
Shop with Romeo [7/08]
Re: Shop with Romeo [7/08]
"Romeo, just the guy I wanted to see," Okay, Chuck wasn't specifically looking for him but he had meant to see him sometime before Friday.
Re: Shop with Romeo [7/08]
"Hi, Chuck. You were looking for me?"
Re: Shop with Romeo [7/08]
Chuck had little doubt in his mind that Romeo would show up.
Re: Shop with Romeo [7/08]
"I think I can manage to drop in." Given the huge amount of nothing he had to do, this was safe to say. "Where will it be? Sometimes they get a touch difficult about really good parties in the dorms."
Re: Shop with Romeo [7/08]
And if there were, well, that's what bribery was for.
Re: Shop with Romeo [7/08]
"And if there are problems, we move back to campus," Romeo nodded approvingly. "I like this plan. You and Blair have good ideas."
Re: Shop with Romeo [7/08]
That wasn't entirely a lie. They did like meeting people. They either turned out to be worth talking to or they turned out to be targets for their mockery. It's win-win, really.
Re: Shop with Romeo [7/08]
The thought that introducing Yurika to Chuck was possibly not the wisest course of events fleeted across Romeo's mind.

"We will be there Friday."

There was a bear in the store.
This was not the usual order of things.
Romeo rubbed his eyes, decided it was more likely to be a transformed classmate than to want to kill and eat him, and ventured, "May I help you?"

Because, clearly, the bear would spout the power of speech anytime.

For some reason, he felt obliged to utter a loud, satisfied "ahhhhh" after draining most of the bottle in one go. So he did.
"Ahhhhhh."
