Tink was out of absinthe! This was a travesty! A tragedy! A tra-something-else-y!

Luckily, Tink knew where she had more.

Hey, while she was at it, she'd open the store for the day. It might be amusing.

After classes Blair showed up at Pixie Dust and waited for Angela and Ella to show.

Ella was there after her classes, dressed in modern (if simple) clothes -- a denim skirt and a red t-shirt. "Hello, Blair," she said, eying the racks. "What do they wear in Antarctica, anyhow?"

"Probably lots of parkas," Blair said. "We'll be avoiding that."

"I like cloaks better," Ella had to agree. "Parkas just seem bulky. Probably warmer, though."

It didn't take long for Angela to find Blair at the store, and she greeted the other girl with a bright grin. "Blair, hi."

"You made it." Blair approved. She indicated the other girl in their party. "This is Ella (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/2940882.html?thread=126025170#t126025170). She's been even more out of it than you have."

Ella took a moment, but decided not to be offended. It was just how Blair was.

"I'm from a different world entirely," she explained, holding a hand out for Angela to shake. "Nice to meet you, Angela."

"And you," Angela returned, happy to take the other girl's hand. "I'm from this one, I think, but about fourteen years ago," she said. It was funny how she was actually getting used to that.

"I think I'm from this year, or at least, we use the same numbers?" Ella frowned. "But we don't have your technology, and our fashion is very different."

"We'll fix that," Blair said. She started flicking through dresses to see if there were any she approved of.

"We're in pretty much the same position," Angela assured Ella, as she followed Blair's lead and peered at the racks. "It's surprising just how much things can change in, what's really not that long."

"Especially if you came to school through a portal," Ella had to agree.

She selected a sweater dress (http://s2.thisnext.com/media/230x230_no_border/PRADA-Argyle-Sweater-Dress_4D930381.jpg) from the rack and held it in front of herself, frowning. It seemed very ... short.

"Blair? Angela? What do you think of this?"

"It needs a belt," Blair said.

"Oh, I love the wool idea," Angela enthused. "For the Antarctic temperatures.

"Tights are still in now, aren't they?" she asked.

"Absolutely!" Blair said. She was fond of a good pair of tights.

"And then a good pair of boots," Ella decided, putting the dress in her maybe pile. The tights would cover her legs, and she could get a belt easily enough. She was rather fond of sashes herself.

"So, what about this sort of thing?" Angela asked, holding up a dress (http://www.sharplily.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/gap.jpg). "I think maybe it'd need some brightening up, but accessories would do that..."

"Put color in the belt and tights," Blair told her.

Angela hung the dress over her arm as she continued to browse. "Good to know there are some things that stay the same. Accessorizing is one of them."

"Always," Blair said. She pulled out a dress from the racks (http://nymag.com/fashion/fashionshows/2008/fall/main/newyork/womenrunway/tibi/slideshow.html?17). It had potential.

"I like the neckline," Ella ventured, hoping that was the right thing to say. "It needs a belt and tights too, right?"

"Perhaps some jewelry too," Blair said. She looked around to see if any necklaces appealed to her.

"Something chunky," Angela suggested. "Offset the patterns."

Angela herself was looking at something approprately white (http://www.busywithstyle.com/wool_dress_casual.jpg) for the Antarctic.

Nodding in agreement, Ella had taken a long dress (http://www.threadsintime.net/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/.pond/orange1970maxi.jpg.w180h455.jpg) off the racks. "You'd stand out from the snow in this."

"Though there is something to be said for matching it," Blair pointed out. "Unless that's what everyone else does but what are the odds of everyone being that fashion conscious around here?"

"Wear white, you mean?" Ella asked, looking at the dress Angela was considering. "I'm not sure. I'd be all hair and eyes, if I did that."

Which ... might not be such a bad thing, all things considered.

[OOC: Now with the right character.]

Angela looked at her, and held the white dress up to get an idea. "I think you could pull that off," she said.

"You think?" Ella asked, reaching for another similar but not identical white dress. "Maybe. It would look nice on you, too."

"You could match each other," Blair suggested.

"Far as I know, as long as you aren't wearing the exact same dress as the girl next to you, it fits in under the partygoers regulations," Angela said.

"Plus it indicates who you're with," Blair said. "After all, you wouldn't want to match outfits with some loser."

Not that Blair matched outfits ever, but it was okay if those she approved of did.

"I think if we choose different shoes and jewelry, we'd look similar without seeming like we're trying to pose as twins," Ella said. "More coordinated, less matchy-matchy."

Besides, she really liked the white dress she was holding.

"Twins is a little lame," Blair agreed. Of course she'd had girls around her that dressed exactly like one another... so she knew where she was coming from there, really.

"And we are not lame," Angela said firmly. "I do think we have a plan, though," she added, beaming at the other two.

"Season by season if you're doing it right." Blair stopped and peered at a yellow dress, wondering if she liked the quality of it.

Angela hadn't actually had any classes today, but if she had, she'd have shown up after them, on the lookout for Blair.

She was prepared in a sponge-like capacity to absorb the fashion knowledge of 2008.

That is possibly the best OCD I've ever seen! *g*
