It'd been a while since they'd spoken, but he was feeling just a bit better than he had been of late and so he actually sought out Michael.

"Sushi?"

It just seemed an odd thing to have as a special. Not too filling, anyway.

"Sushi", Michael said briskly. "Real fresh fish, too."

"I should hope so," he said with a smile.

"How've you been?" He knew some of it, and not from the radio but he wouldn't indicate as such. That would just be rude.

"Sorry it's been a while."

"Not too bad, and it's okay. How're you doing these days?"

"Alive," he said. "I spent the last weekend as a kitten, though. That was wonderful. I suppose Ino told you about it."

"And I haven't exactly had many people around, no," he said with a sigh.

"What've you been up to, if you don't mind me asking?"

Michael shrugged.

"Work and classes, mostly."

He looked at Michael, a little worried.

"Is something the matter? Did I do something?"

"...what? No. What would you've done?"

"At this point," he explained, "I'd rather ask. I seem to have a talent for running people off, after all."

He would make a joke out of it. That was it.

"Trust me, I'm not that easy to run off if I don't want to be."

"Taking anything interesting this semester at least?"

"I'm in the last one with you. I was keeping to the corners for the most part," he admitted. "But the other two sound helpful. I'd happily change one of my classes to either of those.

"I really have no interest in learning to be a bitch."

"Ah, paperwork errors", he said sympathetically. "They got Ino too."

Sometime mid-afternoon Ino wandered in, took a seat at the counter and just grinned impishly at him.

She was innocence personified. Honest.

That got another grin. "I miiiiight," she said, drawing the word out teasingly.

"Oh, I don't know..." she pretended to consider it. "Do I get kisses for it?"

There was a bit of mock-pouting at that. Then she grinned. "Guess what next Saturday is?"

Ino was so tempted to drag this out longer. She settled for dragging each of the words out longer instead. "It's Liir's birthday."

"Is it now." He grinned. "Got any ideas?"

"Well," she said, leaning forward. "I was, maybe, thinking an amusement park--Hannibal said they're fun, and that rollercoasters are sorta like flying--but I've never been to one so..."

"Haven't done an amusement park" - ever - "in a long time. Sounds like fun."

"I'd never even heard of one before," she told him. "So, really, I was wondering if you could help figure that out? Hannibal, uh, had to tell me what a rollercoaster even was."
