Slightly Less Ruiny Ruins of the Echolls Mansion, Monday 7/14

They were still mostly ruiny, but a great deal less trashy, thanks to the volunteers.

They were also covered in little X's, and there was a Xander standing near a wheelbarrow full of shovels.

"Okay so this wasn't what I had planned for today?" He scratched his head under the edge of his construction hat, then shrugged. "--but ignoring it when Fandom gives you a hint tends to be a bad idea, so... be careful? If smoke, fire, green gas or baby dinosaurs come out, STOP DIGGING. And just in case, there's bottles of Holy Water to squirt on whatever you find before you open it. Just saying. "

Bridge? Here. And digging. With the first chest he uncovers, he inspects the coins carefully, making sure they're not, like, Power Coins or something. Satisfied with their purely chocolatey nature, he continues with the oh-so-hard work.

Shovel in hand, Seely started digging.

"Oooh, candy."

Lion-o was bored, having no classes on Monday. He decided to join all the other people digging with shovels while Snarf sat off to the side, grumbling about something.

That all changed after Lion-o found the first small chest of chocolate coins. Snarf was very good at digging if there was candy to be found.

At first, when Turtle spotted Lion-o and Snarf helping at the site, she wondered if Snarf would be any good for sniffing out the treasure, like pigs were supposed to be in sniffing out truffles (whatever truffles were). But then she remembered that they were all marked with the X's, anyway, so it didn't matter.

She resolved, then, to just wave at her former cabinmate and offer a smile. "Hi, Lion-o! How've you been?"

"I'm okay," said Lion-o. "I have some really nice teachers this term, and none of them seem to have a problem with cows."

Turtle couldn't help grinning a little on that, taking a moment to wipe imaginary sweat from her brow and lean a little on her shovel, propped on the ground like a post. "You know," she said, "I stand by my theory that Mister Jim was just lactose intolerant and simply could not get over it. What've you got this time around?"

Every time Turtle managed to unearth another box of chocolate coins, she couldn't help jumping excitedly and clapping. She didn't eat any of them, not yet. She was stockpiling, and eagerly digging for more soon after so taht she could collect more and more.

She was going to beat the pants of Angela at driedel come next Hanukkah. If they lasted that long. But this was Turtle Wexler, here. She would not turn her back on a well-planned long term savings investment.

Seely wasn't eating much of his haul, with the addicted girlfriend and all, but he did take the opportunity to lose the shirt.

Still digging. Though not eating the chocolates as much anymore aside from an occasional nibble.

Seely was back to digging again, with one hundred percent less shirt-action.

Lion-o still had plenty of energy to dig -- mainly because Snarf ate all his chocolate and was now sleeping it off.

There was treasure hunting and chocolate coins involved. Of course she was coming back to "help" some more after leaving for lunch and her karaoke workshop.

Aravis did not know about the chocolate. What she did know, though, was that it was warm enough that she'd donned a pair of calf-length, loose pants in lieu of her skirts, and her hair was in a perfect, tight braid so as to avoid the inevitable frizz.

These factors meant one thing: it was warm enough that Seely would be taking off his shirt while working today.

Which was why she was there, after her workshops. Though she would certainly argue that she was merely getting some sun.

Seely grinned when he caught sight of her, and deliberately slowed his movements down slightly.

"That doesn't look very productive," she commented, tilting her head to watch.

"I'm very productive," Seely replied, turning his back on her and bending to dig some more.
