Xander stood in front of the now-much-less-muddy (though slightly purple-tinged) construction site, hat-clad as usual, though, er. Not the usual hat.

Blueprints were spread out in front of him on a table, next to said table was a large pile of cinderblock, and nearby all of that was a corner of the building which the trusty guys from NPC Construction had actually got into some semblance of its intended structure, bare metal framework waiting to be built around.

"Now don't anybody get so excited we have to truck you down to the clinic in a wheelbarrow," Xander said, "But we're actually gonna start building stuff."

There's gloves, there's hats, there's some pretty damn heavy cinderblock, and there's detailed directions on where to put it.

Pulling a hard-hat on top of the bandanna he was already wearing, Seely started shifting cinderblocks.

Bridge is here, and moving cinderblocks (after, of course, exchanging the hat he'd found with his uh, "new" uniform this morning for one of the harder variety).

Turtle was...doing the very best she could to move the cinderblocks. At the rate she was going, she was probably going to manage to get a whole whopping...two in place.

But no one could accuse her of not trying, that was for sure.

Just extremely lacking in upper arm strength.

There are big, beefy sammiches provided, since there's finally big, beefy work to do.

There are also big leafy sammiches for the non-beefy among us.

There is no rum.

There are still heavy objects to stack, hopefully without droppping them on yourself or others.

This is why there was no rum.

For watching the workers. Or making sure the pirates who aren't members of the community don't take off with the construction supplies.

Who is glancing at his outfit with amusement. This wasn't really much of an issue yesterday, what with never getting out of his PJ's, so every. piece. of clothing in his closet turning into pirate gear is a new one on him.

At some point, Bridge wanders over to talk to Xander, letting out a frustrated sigh as the hat he's wearing slips out of place *again*. Maybe he shouldn't have forgone the wig that had appeared with the rest of his new outfit.

"I'm not laughing at you," Xander says. "I'm just laughing near you. For unrelated reasons."

"Uh huh," Bridge says disbelievingly. "Sure."

"You look hot?" he offers. Which is accurate any way you look at it.

Bridge chooses, unsurprisingly, the literal interpretation. "Never thought I'd actually *want* to be wearing my usual uniform in summer weather," he says. "At least then it was only *one layer*."

Xander eyes him. "So... the island decided you're a navy guy?"

"Well, I *am* military. Sort of." Bridge points out. "So it's not that much of a leap, I guess."

"So why not be an off-duty navy guy? Wearing less clothes?"

"Because it wouldn't..." Bridge frowns. "I'm *supposed* to be in uniform," is all he can come up with. Though he hadn't been willing to sacrifice the decidedly *non* regulation engagement-ring-necklace for the sake of accuracy.

"You'd be taking your shirt off right now if you were in your SPD uniform," Xander points out.

"Would I?"

"Is there some reason you wouldn't?"

"Well," Bridge says. "We're not even married yet. I wouldn't want you to get bored of seeing me shirtless or anything."

"I will never get bored of seeing you shirtless."

*JEALOUS!*

OMG I WILL SEE YOU ON WEDNESDAY. :D
