The York Gallery, Saturday [8/2]
Kevin had found a broom last week, so he thought he would do some actual work today and sweep the gallery.
He got about as far as the reception desk before deciding to take a break and look at pretty pictures on the internet. The broom was quickly forgotten.
The exhibit floor really wasn't that dusty anyway.

Reception Desk

Re: Reception Desk
"Are you here... alone?"
Re: Reception Desk
It might be then that Kevin noticed the papers and crayons that Charlotte was holding onto in one hand, especially since she was waving them at him with an air of demand. "I am going to make new, prettier pictures to put up for people to look at. You can help!"
Re: Reception Desk
This had to be the work of a Tresum spell. He made a note to ask Van about it next time he saw her because, heck, that would come in way useful a few years down the road.
"And I agree. The pictures we have up now are very ugly. What did you have in mind?"
Re: Reception Desk
"I'm going to draw a picture of a pretty princess," she decided. "Those are always pretty. You can draw a picture of the scary dragon that the white knight is going to come and rescue her from." Her nose wrinkled a little. "I'm not good at drawing the dragons."
Re: Reception Desk
"What's your princess' name going to be?" he asked.
Re: Reception Desk
"Chaaaaarlotte," she answered as she scribbled in the color of Princess Charlotte's floofy pink dress.
Re: Reception Desk
"And my knight will be named Toby. He'll be the most handsomest knight that ever was."
Re: Reception Desk
She looked very, very set on this point, with an expression that suggested that if Kevin didn't agree to it, she'd probably cry, and then wouldn't he feel bad, making a little girl and his boss cry like that.
Re: Reception Desk
He proceeded to give th knight big curly locks of dark hair sticking out from under his helmet.

"Your princess is really, really pretty," he added, glancing over.

But then it faded again. "But it only prints black and white..."
The light then swiftly returned. "But we can scan them! The computer has a scanner, and we can scan them, and then print them on the color printer! Kevin! You're a genius! Even if you are a boy!"

She drew more sparkles on the princess' dress.
"But it's nice."

Re: Reception Desk
Hey, that was a lot of money to a seven year old.
Re: Reception Desk
It was a lot of money for Kevin as well.
Re: Reception Desk
To prove her point, she held up her very scribbly and seven-year-old-esque picture of what could be assumed to be a princess and a knight. If you squinted hard enough.

Then, after a moment, she brightly conclude, "Okay!" and started drawing a kitty for her princess. It was going to be fluffy and white and be named Muffin.
