Book Haven - Friday - 08/15

Liir made his way to the store, slipped in, cleaned the front, neatened the shelves, and put out the tea and cookies. Then, with a touch of trepidation, he searched through the bin at the back until he found something on the subject he was interested in at the moment.

Then he settled at the front with his book and some fresh lemonade he'd made earlier this morning.

The Book Haven was open.

"Hi, Liir!" Amber said with a grin the moment she walked in, spotting him. She was wearing pink bermuda shorts that she swore were not her own, and a plain white tee.

His own green bermuda shorts had taken some time to get used to this morning, but he had to admit that they were comfortable.

"Hello, Amber," he said with a nod her way. He put the book down and took a sip of his drink.

"Would you like some? Also, there's tea and cookies at the table. How're you?"

"Lemonade sounds great, thanks," she told him. "I'm good, just haven't seen you in a while 'cause I've been busy takin' care of a hyena. How're you?"

He slipped around the counter to pour her a glass and lifted it to her a moment ago.

"...taking care of a hyena?"

Who would turn into a hyena? Not that he disliked them.

"Thanks," she said, taking the glass and taking a sip. "Ooh, this is good. And yah, Cal. He turned into a hyena last Saturday."

Amber bit her lip, tried to look as innocent as possible. "Oh sure. He's havin' a great time."

He rolled his eyes.

"I know some people seem to be bothered by it, but when I was a kitten, my whole world was being petted and cuddled and getting to smell new things and sleep a lot. I love when it happens."
