Trooper Station: Wednesday

There was a pile of paperwork sitting on Dale's desk but he was ignoring it.

Instead he was staring at his desk lamp which kept flickering on and off which seemed to concern Dale to a certain degree.

Roy knocked lightly on the door before he poked his head in Dale's office, he was already talking before he even notice Dale sitting. "Cooper, I'm going out with the next patrol..." he paused. "You need to change your light bulb."

Dale looked up with a distracted expression on his face. "Hmm? Yes. Right. I'll do that. You're going where now?"

"I'm just joining one of the patrols," he said. "See how efficient the new route is. This expansion is going to complicate things." He paused. "Is everything alright?"

Dale frowned a little at the lamp as it was now acting perfectly normal. "Must be feeling off today," Dale said with a touch of frustration. "Just can't put my finger on why. Are we going to be doing any recruiting for additional patrolmen?"

"On this budget?" he asked and shook his head. "I doubt it."

Another pause as he studied Dale carefully. "You can take some time off if you need it."

Dale opened his mouth to say something else but stopped and frowned. "I may take you up on that, Sheriff."

It surprised Roy too as he was expecting the usual dismissal, but he'd meant the offer and he nodded. "Just let me know when."

Dale paused for a moment. "I think I'm going to take the rest of the week off," he replied. "Maybe longer. I'm not sure."
