Millie was singing cheerfully as she opened the store and set out pastries and coffee for customers.

She'd quite enjoyed the three minute dates last weekend and was feeling better about herself than she had in some time.

Mary was reluctant to go out until she could get her hair color fixed, but she was on a mission. So she tucked all of her green hair under a black baseball cap before heading out to do her shopping.

"Hello Millie," she said as she entered the store. "I need to pick up a present for one of my employees."

"Hello, Mary," Millie said cheerfully. "How are you?"

"I'm okay, just a little sad. One of my very first employees will be leaving next week," said Mary, nervously adjusting her hat.

"Mine as well!" Millie said. "And it is sad. She worked with the previous owner as well and was such a help to me. I hate to see her go."

"I hate saying good-bye to people," said Mary. "There was a book someone gave me when I graduated, though, and I thought it would be a nice thing to give her as well."

"Sounds like a wonderful idea," Millie said cheerfully. "Books are definitely some of my favorite things."

"Then you're in the right line of work," said Mary, crouching down a bit to take a copy of "Oh, The Stuff You'll See! (http://www.amazon.com/Oh-Places-Youll-Classic-Seuss/dp/0679805273)" off the shelf. In the process, she managed to knock off her ball cap, and the green hair tumbled down to her shoulders.

Millie blinked. "Your hair is a most interesting color. How did you get it to be that way?"

"Shampoo accident," said Mary, twirling a strand of green hair around her finger. "There's a colorist at the day spa who says she can fix it, but she doesn't have an opening until tomorrow."

"I could fix it," Millie offered. "I remember how it was before."

"Even if you could tone it down a bit, that would be wonderful," said Mary. "I wanted to go see my fiancé this weekend, but I was worried the hair might scare him."

"It's easy enough to just fix," Millie said with a shrug. "But it's up to you."

"Go ahead and work your magic," said Mary, smiling a little bit. "I hate that baseball cap anyway!"

It only took a moment for Millie to shift Mary's hair back to its normal color. Though she might have added just an extra touch of luster to it. "There," she said. "Much better."

"You're amazing, Millie. Thank you!" said Mary, beaming.

"Oh, goddess," Millie said, blushing a bit. "It was nothing. I'm glad to help."

"Well, let me get my book, and now I can actually go finish the rest of my errands without having to wear that stupid hat," said Mary.

"Of course," Millie said cheerfully. "Let me just ring it up for you."

She led the way over to the counter. "We should do another day at the spa sometime."

"Yes, definitely," agreed Mary. "I feel like there's so much I have to catch up with lately. It's been a crazy summer, and I've been a little pre-occupied with my own problems."

"I as well," Millie said quietly.

Mary smiled at her. "We'll plan a really nice day at the spa and get caught up. Hopefully they'll be free next week before the influx of new students," she said.

"Oh yes!" Millie said. "And we can cheer ourselves up!"
