The Perk, Sunday Evening
She had been quite… scarce about Fandom lately, Juli mused as she settled herself at the Perk with a coffee and the latest in data that Helmer had sent her that morning.
A smile curved her lips as she went over it, absently tucking an errant strand of hair behind one ear. If this was correct, she’d be able to get home within the week. The Federation’s scientists had managed to translate the data she’d been able to get to them and discover her temporal coordinates.
About time, though she supposed that Fandom had not been so bad. Juli shook her head slightly. Either way, it would be good to be home, where she was needed.
Good indeed.
Though she’d miss the coffee.

He nodded slightly at Juli, "Hey."

Houston just wagged his tail and settled himself at Murdock's feet, cocking his head in interest at Juli.
"How's your evening goin'?" he asked after he'd ordered a coffee.
no subject
"Well-behaved does not mean he belongs in stores," she said, still mildly. "And, certainly, it is not a hardship to tie him up outside. Robin does so with hers, and they suffer no harm from it."

He could just be joking around or he really just might not care. Or possibly he was just being a pain in the ass.

Coffee and dog hair though did not mix.
"Then you can take him away from me," she said, voice losing it's mild edge. "As I do not appreciate it."

He went back to his coffee, semi-grouchy. He knew that was rude and that he had been inconsiderate, but some part of him didn't really care.
"Sorry," he muttered. "That was rude," he acknowledged.

No, Juli wasn't that impressed with him.

Finally, he let out a bit of a sigh, rubbing a hand across his weary face. "I know it was. Been a bit of long day, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be taking it on other people."
"Sorry," he said again. This time however, it was genuine.

Reserved.

"Well," a casual sip of coffee, "I might be."
no subject
Mild curiosity, really.

He sipped his coffee again. "I missed the broadcast last night, so I can't confirm or deny anything you might have heard. Besides, it's kind of private business anyway."
How in the hell the squirrels had him pegged for plotting revenge anyway baffled him. Then again...maybe it wasn't so hard for them to surmise given the situation.

Yes, dammit. She was right. But it'd be so much more gratifying to handle it himself. He'd always been used to the direct approach.
"I'll see what can be done," he offered smoothly with a bit of a nod. He'd told Amber he wouldn't tell anyone and he meant that, up to and including school officials. And really, there was only one person he felt comfortable even discussing it with anyway.
It certainly wasn't Juli.

"See that you do," she said, equally mildly and going back to her reports. "As you are the adult."

little turdboy.Much.
"I certainly will," he replied calmly, giving away nothing of his thoughts. He finished his coffee in one last go, got up and tipped his hat at her slightly. "Hope you enjoy the rest of your evenin'."
Then he strode out, collecting Houston along the way, not in a much better mood than when he'd gone in.

And frankly thought he shouldn't be teaching children with that sort of attitude. You didn't hurt students, even if you didn't like them. Much, or not.
She ignored him, and her evening, once he was gone, went much better.
