The Perk, Tuesday Morning

Ino was sulking a bit.

She was curled up in a chair at the Perk, with a hot chocolate, a notebook and one of her medical scrolls. Ino was going to study in a bit to make up for Saturday.

Right now though, she was sulking about radio and the distinct lack of mentioning anything to do with Tyler-sensei getting pie all over him.

Even if, she supposed, it was a good thing that radio hadn’t caught her and Anemone’s names. Still. Where was the fun in them not being able to hear about it?

Hurley got a cup of hot chocolate himself, and ended up sitting nearby to Ino.

Being a curious fellow, the type who would chase a dog carrying a skeletal arm into a creepy jungle, Hurley peered over, trying to see what the girl was studying.

"Dude... what is that?"

"Oh, cool," Hurley said. "Ummm, sorry if that was rude or anything. Uhhh, hi. I'm Hurley."

"Yeah," Hurley said. "I just, you know, looking over at something and... yeah. I'm kinda, like, new in town? So I'm still a little nervous."

Hurley's eyebrows shot up a bit at the 'you'll know it' statement.

"I was there," Hurley said. "I met some people, but like, I tried to stay out of the way since I was, you know, kind of... freaking out."

"It kinda started before the shuttle here?" Hurley said. "What with, like, dude from space and it suddenly not being the same year it is back home. And then I met a talking frog and I wasn't sure whether or not, like, I was completely crazy?"

Ichigo was just going to grab some coffee. He would be in and out and he was already at the counter before he realized that he knew the person sitting at the table.

Then he spun on his heels. "You!" he shouted, pointing his finger at her as if that one act could impel her to stay put.

"I don't care what your name is!" he stomped over to her table. "You stole my shirt!"

[identity profile] first-guardian.livejournal.com 2008-09-02 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
He was going to ignore the smartass remarks. "Give me back my shirt," he demanded.

"We'll get up now and go get it," he decided, crossing his arms and waiting. He liked that shirt. Well okay, it was just a shirt but since she stole it, he decided he was very attached to it.

The door opened to make way for a large presence, covered mostly in a long coat. Cable gave the entirety of the Perk a quick once-over before heading up to the counter and ordering himself a coffee.

It was important to get a full lay of the island, now. He'd be back on the new section soon enough.

"Morning, Ino," Cable replied, without turning, dropping a bill in the tip jar while he waited for his drink. Civvies or not, he still managed to look utterly out of place.

Which he ignored, of course.

"Yep," he said, and gratefully took his coffee. He left two more bills on the counter in payment and turned to go find a table somewhere in the corner.

"I'm a little busy at the moment," Cable said, not unkindly, and took a sip of his coffee as he reached into a pocket in his jacket, producing another firm stack of paperwork.

Life had been easier when he had Irene to handle this particular part of proceedings. "You'll see me tomorrow." When he wasn't busy.
