The Boards - Tuesday - CASTING - 9/02

Today was a great deal more hectic, a great deal less irritating and, to Geoffrey, a great deal more exciting than yesterday had been. It had made him considerably more appreciative of the sturdy old footwear he sported, but not much else, and of course today was better for being the last day of casting.

"Decidedly bookish," he mused with a slight laugh and a shake of his head.

He licked his lips, leaning his head back. "And not terribly busy, besides, but I can only assume it's not because of my unique colouration making people uncomfortable."

He snorted and waved a hand.

"We don't really care about that nowadays. At least, not here."

And Fiyero grinned a little.

"Well, as I said. I can only assume that's not the reason the shop hasn't been so busy."

"No. He's a stage manager. I'm pretty sure he's one of the school kids. Nice enough. Looks around your kid's age. Pretty eager, though he looked a little skeptical about the play."

"I'm sure he'll warm up," he assured Geoffrey lightly. Not that he thought Geoffrey particularly cared what other people thought about the play.

"He'll see," and that right there, that comment, is said with the kind of conviction you wouldn't think to find in a man like him, someone broken inside.

He believes in Art with every fiber of himself.

It's odd, the sort of thing that reminds him of Elphaba. And it's a bit like a sharp pang of longing.

If there was one thing she'd been sure about ... it had been her 'work', even if he'd been fuzzy on the details of it until the night he'd come here.
