York Gallery, Wednesday

Teddy was not late for work today. Really.

He was just... slightly slow in getting there. Because he forgot to check his e-mail. Yes. That.

Shhh.

One of the posters Miss York put up all over town was hanging in the window in case anyone had something to submit.

The York Gallery will be featuring, for its next exhibit, a community showcase!
Now is the chance to shine, with your work displayed in a fine gallery for everyone to see!
Show will run September 10th through September 28th.
Entries accepted until the 9th!
For any question, concerns, or submissions, come to the gallery at 4 Apocolypse Avenue or call Charlotte at 555-YORK.

It was really no surprise that Charlotte had a few extra posters after putting them all up, and, besides, it felt like ages since the gallery had been 'open.' Because it had been. Oh, well. She'd pop in, drop off the posters, and say hi to Teddy before heading upstairs.

"Hi, Teddy! Did you enjoy your little vacation from work?"

"Charlotte, Teddy," she corrected him with a light laugh. "Go ahead and call me Charlotte. And, yeah, it is a little hard transitioning, but I've just been going so stir crazy! You at least have your classes to keep you busy."

The suggestion made Charlotte grin a little, but she lightly shook her head. "Not unless I hired someone else to teach them," she said. "I know the stuff, but not how to make it. I could do an art history, but somehow, I don't think that would interest people as much."

"None of the successful ones," Charlotte pointed out, cheerfully and not unkindly. "Artists rarely have the sorts of business sense to run a gallery, and that's why they have, art dealers, to help them out."

"Well, I did have the investment workshop over the summer," Charlotte said, "but I don't know if teaching is really for me."

Her thighs wouldn't handle it, with all the baking she brought it.

"But maybe next summer, another workshop might not be so bad. What sort of classes are you taking this semester? Anything interesting?"

Chad came to realize one severe problem with the fact that Teddy worked on Wednesday, and that was the new season of ANTM.

But Chad really could be smart and resourceful at times, and he realized that this problem could be easily solved. A trip into town that evening and coming into the gallery, he was not only armed with the usual Chinese take-out, but he also had his laptop with him (purchased not too long ago, actually, with some of the money from his last modeling job; how thematic!), all ready to be hooked up to stream the CW.

"Good, you guys aren't busy."

"Teddy," there was almost a frown on Chad's face to go along with the slightly offended tone in his grumble, as he moved behind the desk to set the laptop up. "It's the premiere tonight."

The recognition got a faint grin out of Chad and he went ahead and got everything set up, taking the liberty to chair mod pull a chair up for himself to. "You can get me back," he said, "when some new Ratman thing comes out, I promise. And I never even see your boss around, so I'm sure she won't mind."

"Oh, God, there's a prequel?" Chad asked, shaking his head and then checking the clock. They still had a few minutes before eight, perfect for divvying out the food.

"And we're doing this every Wednesday, just so you know."
