Between his mayoral job and his other responsibilities at the store, Cable felt it was probably important to make sure he wasn't going to get any sloppier than he might've already gotten over the year. So he spent a good chunk of the morning in the meditation room, going through his psimitar exercises, adjusting to weight and movement all over again.

By the afternoon, he was fully back at the desk again, feeling fit and... well, not quite ready to tackle the next stack of paperwork.

He was outlining some possible new invasion-prevention procedures, though.

It had been awhile since she'd managed to get out to go shooting (really, pretty much since she had to shoot things to get people out of hell and all) really, Robin figured that in a place like this, her skills couldn't be sharp enough.

So Thursday afternoon found her shoving her gun (safety on!) into her bag and heading over to that place with all the shooting and stuff. "Hi!"

Cable had been set on all the work present on his desk for a while now, lamenting the utter lack of extensive scheduling yet again. That somewhat familiar voice made itself clear enough, though, and so he looked up. It was-- "Robin Scherbatsky." He was good with names. "Afternoon."

"Wow, you made it through the last name on the first try," she congratulated. "It's kind of a bitch -- most people stumble over it. How're you today?"

She was being nice, because a) she got to shoot things and b) she needed his range to do it.

"I've had to deal with worse," he said, not unkindly. "In my time, we tended to get creative." Cable leaned back in his chair. "How can I help you?" He'd pretty much gotten that one down by now.

Robin was curious about the "in my time" (she was guessing "the future!" but beyond that she was stuck), but she said, "I heard there's a shooting range here? Well, not so much 'heard' as 'reported it on the radio for weeks and weeks and only just now actually bothered to come look.'"

The blonde girl on Tuesday had told him to ask the owner about the shooting range, so Myn was back to get right on that. He had his rifle case in one hand, just on the off chance - and if not, then he would see what the Preserve had to offer by way of safe targets.

When he saw Cable, he held back the automatic reaction to salute, responding instinctively to the way the man carried himself. "Good afternoon, sir. Are you the owner here?"

"Yes," Cable replied, failing to as much as raise an eyebrow at that reaction (although he made note of it), "I am. Can I help you...?"

"Myn Donos, sir," he said quickly, back straightening as he came to attention. "I was hoping that you could help me, sir. The shooting range the school provides is entirely short-range, which does me very little good. I would like to be able to keep up my skills while I am here, and the young lady I spoke to on Tuesday suggested you have such facilities here."

The shooting range seemed to be a thing today. "I do," Cable replied, frankly. "But that's one part of my house not everyone has access to. I'll need your license, firearm and background."

"I was a sniper in the Corellian armed forces before joining the New Republic armed forces, where I became a starfighter pilot. My current commander arranged a unit of "commando pilots", which requires me to keep my abilities as sharp as possible." Donos placed the laser rifle case on the desk for Cable's perusal while he pulled out his identification. It wasn't exactly a license, but it did give him authorization to carry the weapon on his person as well as validating his story.

It had been awhile since she'd been shooting, but Robin's aim hadn't suffered any. Sure, there was room for improvement, as with everything, but she was happy enough that it was better than most people would probably expect from a 28 year-old manicured former popstar from Nova Scotia.

Nothing like the element of surprise, right?

There was someone using Nate's shooting range. No one ever used that thing.

Therefore... Deadpool needed to investigate.

He waited until she wasn't shooting and, you know, able to hear him before speaking. "I might have to ask you to marry me because of that."
