Book Haven - Saturday - 09/06
This 'working' was starting to grow on Fiyero, admittedly. It was nice to feel as if the days weren't filled with nothing except minimal conversation and meals, really, and he'd taken to organizing the shelves to his liking and ensuring that the books stayed in that order, considering the amount of people who seemed to take novels or texts off the second shelf and for some unknown reason replace them on the third a few moments later.
He tapped his fingertip on the desk for a moment and then continued to write down The Oziad in full, scrawling handwriting. He thought it was something that Geoffrey would appreciate, at least.
That doesn't mean he's unapproachable, though. If there are questions he will certainly do his best to answer them in full.
{{OOC: And flying OCD-less. Like a drunken flying monkey.}}

"It's mostly for Geoffrey, really." But then again, the man might appreciate a whole book of it.

"Some Munchkin poets, a few pieces from Gilikin. Nothing much from the Vinkus, but that's all changed somewhat. It was a gift from someone, a history of Oz.
"I've read it through a few times."

He smiled full-on this time.
"Have you been doing all right?"
no subject
"Well enough indeed," he said with a faint smile as he leaned against the counter.
"And yourself? I know I've been dropping things off and running, but I hope the summer ice didn't melt too much."

Setting his pen down on the table, he turned his full attention to his son.
"And you started fall classes this week, didn't you? Or I am terribly misinformed?"
no subject
He ducked his head as he hadn't quite told his father this. He hadn't thought of it. Reporting, about school and about other things, was nothing new exactly, but he was somewhat out of practice.
"I attended all my classes."

"Of course I did," he said with a nod of his head. "It's learning. I'm taking Diplomacy, Survival Skills, Art, and Literature this term. Two subjects are rather new to me; the other two, not so much."
no subject
"I only ask because I know there were a few courses I took at Shiz that were ... less than interesting to myself."
no subject
"A whole seven weeks on being horrible to others. I almost couldn't stand it."
no subject
"I can imagine."
no subject
"Hopefully not. One of the instructors was a rather interesting fairy who runs a store in town here."
no subject
"Oh, well. Perhaps not, then." He rubbed a hand through his hair. "But at least that bit's over, then?"
no subject
He smiled.
"And you? How have you been?"
no subject
He pursed his lips. "Admittedly I've been ... keeping to myself a little."

"Well, certainly don't use it as a reason not to go out." One of them should probably be vaguely sociable.

"I'm sure it doesn't sound ridiculous," he managed, gently.
no subject
"Er, yes."

He slid his eyes down to the paper in front of him and scribbled onto the margin ... just to make sure the pen was still working.
And not at all to avoid the awkward. Really.
