When Mary arrived at the front desk, she found Gunther hiding underneath it. "What's wrong with you?" she asked. Gunther babbled something about evil twins that didn't make sense before bursting into tears.

That's why Mary spent the rest of her shift working from one of the couches in the lobby.

Jack came in for some meatloaf, topped with chocolate chips. They didn't come that way originally, but he thought "why the hell not" and decided to improvise.
