Radio C-H-A-O-S, Saturday Afternoon

The Joker and a posse of ZOMG chipmunks made their way to Fandom's radio station. It doesn't really matter why and it doesn't really matter how. All the matters was that he was there now. After he and the chipmunks had some, ah, fun with the squirrel hostages, the Joker went through the music in the station and put together a playlist he could share with his adoring fans. Then he put his feet up and turned the microphone on.

"Gooooooooooooood afternoon, Fandomites. This is the Joker with Radio C-H-A-O-S, bringing you the screams of yesteryear and of today--"

*muffled squeaking*

"Ah shh shh shhhhhhhhhhhhh. You know, if you try to speak the duct tape will just irritate your skin more. How d'you think I got these scars?" There was a period of long maniacal laughter. "Oh! I like this job! I like it!"

"Call in and tell me your troubles, your woes and your problems and I will guarantee to put a smile on your face, one way or another," The Joker chuckled. "I'm a man of my word."

The Joker sat back and flipped on what might be a very familiar song to some people and waited for the phone to ring.

He probably won't play it but at least you'll be able to give him a good laugh at your expense.

"Hey, can you play that Partridge song again? About being happy?" Hey, it was catchy.

"We don't play songs twice!" the Joker yelled. "It gets so bor-ing! YOU ARE BORING!"

Rikku was bouncing as she dialed the radio station phone number.

"Hello there. How may I take your order?" the Joker asked.

Someone might've worked at McDonald's during his teen years.

"Hi!" Rikku grinned, bouncing more. "I just wanna say I love all these songs you're playing!!"

The sad thing was, she was being serious.

"I have a request, too! Can you play that Bumblebee song? 'Sweeeeet little bumblebee, I know what you want from me! Doop-a-doop-a-doop-DOOOOOO-dah, doop-a-doop-a-doop-DOOOOOO-dah!'"

This girl was crazier than he was. Naturally the Joker loved it.

"Aren't you just adoooooorable?" the Joker drawled, bouncing happily in his chair. And that song she suggested sounded absolutely dreadful. "I'd be happy to play your little tune."

"Oh my gosh, thank you!" Rikku squealed. "I love that song! If I have more requests, I'll call back, too! If that's okay!?"

More fun, awesome songs that would never make other people throw their radios out a window! ... Really!

The Joker was there to help you. Really. Just don't ask where he got those scars.

Sometimes, Sokka was less than smart. Like now, on the phone.

"Soooooooo... Hey. Are you a smoker? A midnight toker? Do you get your lovin' on the run?"

The Joker took a deep breath and answered Sokka's questions in one swift run-on sentence.

"Smoking is bad for you, you should start up, I prefer to toke in the middle of the day after lunch and getting your lovin' on the run is rude."

The Joker giggled a bit. "Great questions. Now why don't you tell me where you live so I can thank you in person."

Sanity began to return, and Sokka had the feeling he didn't want to be anywhere NEAR this guy. "I live on Nemesis Island with my pet poodle," he answered, after a bit.

"I'm not beeeeeeeeeliving you," the Joker said. If there was someone with a poodle on Nemesis he would have terrorized them by now. "Come on. We'll get together and have fun. I know this great magic trick involving a pencil."

The chipmunks started chittering wildly. They loved that trick.

You say you are not afraid of clowns? Well, come on down and we'll change that.

Barbossa walked into the station. "Do I know ye?"

He tilted his hair. "Dear lord, matey, did ye let Jack Sparrow do yer makeup?"

"No, but I think I'd look faaaaaaaaaaaabulous with those little beads in my hair," the Joker said, leaning back in the chair. "Oooh you talk like him. Are you Jack's grandma?"

"I be not," Barbossa said, looking insulted. "I be Hector Barbossa, one o' those who sits on the Brethren Court 'n very manly indeed."

"Ohhhhhhhhhhh you're the guy who lost the bathtub race yesterday!" the Joker said, looking delighted. "If I were you I would have put dynamite in Jack's tub and set it off in the middle of the race. Sure-fire win that way."

The Joker felt that this whole competition was lacking in the explosives department.

"I be havin' a cannon!" Barbossa said. "It were totally bigger'n Jack's, too."

No, it wasn't.

"It were jes' goin' t' tip me bathtub over." He frowned. "Which be happenin' anyway, so I should've jes' used it."

"No one likes a sore loser, Jack's grandma," the Joker said, shaking his head.

"I be not a sore loser!" Barbossa said. "I be a pirate. We jes'...ignore the bits we don't be findin' t' our likin'. Like rules, generally."

The Joker smiled. Now there was something he could agree with. "Good man. Rules were made to be ignored entirely. They're just so...confining, don't you think?"

"I do," Barbossa said, nodding and pulling up a chair. "I'd be offerin' ye rum 'n t' make yerself more comfortable, but Jack be takin' all of the first bit and ye're already doin' the second part."

"I hope you don't mind me taking liberties with your station," the Joker said, leaning back into his chair. He stuck a hand into his coat pocket and curled his hand around the knife in there. He had been around pirates long enough to know they aren't to be trusted. "I couldn't resist sharing my knowledge with the people of this fair town."

"They be needin' all the advice they can get," Barbossa said, reaching lazily for an apple, "'n I be tired o' helpin' them."

The Joker smiled and rocked back and forth in his chair, immensely pleased. "Living here must've felt like being the only sane person in an insane asylum, am I right?"

The Joker often felt that way. Because clearly he wasn't the crazy one.

"Ye be very right," Barbossa said. "Thar be not nearly enough people here t' agree wit' me. If ye take over...I be okay wit' that."

Wasn't that nice of Jack's grandma?

"I am so glad you're being so accommodating," the Joker said. They were taking over this town anyway, the radio station naturally included that, but the Joker was relived the pirate was okay with it. Beating up the elderly wasn't as fun as it sounded.

"I be the soul o' hospitality," Barbossa lied.

You can blame your admins for the majority of that awful playlist.

And by awful I mean "totally awesome omggggggggg".

...I honestly *like* about half those songs...

*cough* Ditto.

*hides* Me three.

... We should really form a support group. Ahem.

*coughs* So do I. Most of the ones from before, like, 1994, at least.

The rest I kind of haven't heard of.

*looks completely innocent and doesn't know what any of you are talking about, rly*
