Town Hall, Monday

"Belarus, Nate?"

"It is in your region."

"I thought the idea was that I was supposed to stay in Rumekistan."

"It's in your region. Bring Peter some beer. Import."

"Nate? I hate you."

"Sure."

"A lot."

"Good luck, Irene." He clicked off the phone, rubbed the back of his head, eyed the paperwork, and did not externally rejoice at the fact he didn't have to deal with it anymore.

Cable spent most of the day in discussion about post-Nemesis measures, instead. Much more relaxing.

Robin was, indeed, seated. Behind a desk and everything! And -- god, she was so ridiculously happy about this, it wasn't even funny -- she was dressed professionally! She'd spent a good chunk of the prior day sifting through her closet and pulling out the adorable, preppy, lovely collared shirts and pencil skirts that had made up her Metro News 1 uniform.

She was even wearing heels, putting her at a vastly-missed six feet in height when she stood. It was so nice to be back in heels. In like, a grown-up job and everything.

...anyway, Robin was here, sifting through paperwork with her legs crossed and a pen stuck through her hair. She was highly interruptable, however, should anyone find a need to do so.

[but be aware that pings will go unanswered until proooobably like 9 am EST as I'm doing that weird thing where I go unconscious for the next seven hours.]

Sometime during his own lunch break, Fraser went home and got a small lunch consisting of sandwiches, potato salad (made last night), two apples and two bottles of water. He loaded them in a small basket and then headed off to town hall.

He slipped in quietly and kept quiet just in case he was interrupting.

Robin was in the middle of writing out directions for the various unnamed office workers before she forgot (she preferred to think of them as "underlings," personally) and didn't notice who was there, at first.

She did however notice that someone was there, and greeted, "Hello, can I help you?" without looking up from where she was scrawling instructions to order new copier paper.

"Well, yes, but I can come back if you're very busy," Fraser answered. "I should have called."

Robin glanced up and grinned, her pen stilling immediately. "Hey, you! I wasn't expecting visits. I'm not super-busy. Sit."

"I should have called," he said again even as he took a seat. "I didn't stop to think that you might be overly busy on your first official day."

"I'm reorganizing so it's easier for me to figure out where everything is," she assured him. "I'm not too busy to take a break, I promise."

"How are things going?" Fraser asked. "Are you acclimating all right?"

She nodded happily. "I'm acclimating like a thing that acclimates hardcore. Look, I have a desk!"

She was pleased.

"Yes, I see," he said and smiled. "I brought you some lunch, if you'd like."

She nodded happily. "I've already worked out a system for day-to-day activities, down to the coffee-making, and found a program that will not only keep all your appointments and color-code them, but send out noisy little reminders when they approach. Is there anything I should be doing about the Nemesis Island stuff other than all the paperwork I've been going through already?"

"It makes a little 'ping!' noise," she replied. "Unless I change it to like, a song or something."

"I was thinking more like thrash metal," Robin replied, her face perfectly serious.

"Highlighted, collated, and ready to be sent to appropriate parties for the most part," she assured him, patting her little pile of paper-clipped and be-foldered papers.

Renee Montoya is no longer working at the trooper station. Ray Kowalski should be added as employee.
