Lola was flipping through a book on flower arranging. Reading it was going a little bit slowly, since she'd only been able to find one in English, and her reading comprehension wasn't as good as it could probably be, but she was trying.

And that was what was important, right?

Special on sunflowers!

During his lunch break, Dale decided to check out the new flower shop in town and see if he could find anything suitable for Charlotte.

"Good day," he said in greeting as he entered the shop. "Do you deliver?"

Lola was pretty sure it said so on the sign, but she smiled anyway. "Guten Morgen. We make good deliveries. What do you like?"

"Well I need something special," Dale said noting the special on daisies. "But not extravagant. It's for a lady friend of mine. Do you have any recommendations?"

"Is she a girlfriend, or a friend who is a girl?"

"Girlfriend," Dale said with a grin. "She's very special."

Yep. He's in ultra-dork mode today.

Yeah, he was. Lola thought it was very sweet.

"The rose is the, ah, obvious choice, ja? But I think you should try to be a little different. We have the sunflower special today, or I think Schwertlilien -- ah." She quickly flipped through her dictionary. "Iris? Or orchids. Very romantic."

"Orchids!" Dale said with a snap of his fingers. "Perfect! Any particular type?"

"You must think color, I think?" Lola quickly flipped through her arrangement book. "Es tut mir leid, I am still learning, but -- ah!" She poked at the book and flipped it closed. "There is light purple for love and grace," she pointed out a bouquet behind the counter, "or white for purity," she pointed to a simpler, more Asian inspired bouquet, "or of course, both." She grinned. "Or for more, ah, fierce, there is that one." She pointed to a bright yellow and orange bouquet.

"Fierce, huh?" Dale said with a smirk. "Perfect. I'll take a bouquet of those along with a card that will be delivered to Charlotte York at the York Gallery."

Lola nodded. "It is a very good choice, sir." She sifted through a couple of papers on the counter before finding the delivery form. "You only need to fill out this and we will make your delivery."

"Thank you very much," Dale said as he finished the delivery instructions. "You've been very helpful."

Her first customer. Her dad would be so proud.

"You're welcome, sir. Ah, please come back again."

'Cause, you know, it's required. *nods firmly*
