MHA Lobby, Saturday Morning

Shock of shocks, Loki had managed a pleasant night the previous night. Sure, that stupid as fuck angel had nearly ruined his day but liquor plus someone to talk shit with made for a good night.

With the sudden swarm of people onto the island, Loki actually decided to open up the apartments on a fucking weekend. He usually spent most of the day sleeping but he was feeling magnanimous so the doors were open and he was behind the counter.

Of course, the sudden decision to do something thoughtful didn't mean Loki himself was going to be all hearts and roses today. That kind of shit was so boring.

The hotel had been invaded. It was time for Ronon to find a quieter place where he wouldn't be awoken by the sounds of beds squeaking and high pitched laughter. ~~And that was just Marshall upstairs~~.

Ronon stopped in front of the counter and crossed his arms. "You got rooms here?"

"Apartment buildings tend to have rooms," he quipped, looking up at the new arrival. "It's how they get their name, after all. I mean, if I didn't have rooms, you might as well just call me a fucking hallway."

He added a nice, pleasant smile to that statement.

Finding this guy had some spirit, Ronon returned the smile, baring his teeth slightly. "And all your rooms are empty?"

"Not by a longshot," he said. "Are you looking for an empty room or one where someone else already lives so you can go loom over them in an intimidating fashion? I bet some people get their rocks off on that."

This guy had yet to see looming. Ronon leaned against the counter in his amusement. "Some do. But I'd rather live alone."

"So do I," he agreed with a smirk. "Makes beating off so much easier."

He reached for a few papers and dropped them in front of Ronon.

"Got a floor preference? There are empty rooms where you can loom all you want in the basement, second floor and third floor."

After he fell down that elevator shaft, Ronon was good with staying on the ground. "Hotel had cable and room service, you got that in the basement?"

He made a face at the paperwork, thinking he should make his TA do stuff like this for him. Might give the kid purpose or something.

"The place has all the amenities," he said, please with himself for knowing that. "You'll get porn, I promise."

No, Ronon hadn't said anything about porn. All guys liked porn. If they didn't, they obviously were real fucking men.

"Fill out all that shit in front of you, sign your name and I'll give you the key and you'll be on your way to the freedom of basement living!"

Ronon hadn't quite made it to porn - the guys on Atlantis weren't good with sharing that stuff. But he'd also gone nine years without sex, so that was telling. "Good porn?" Ronon assumed it was like pizza from what he'd heard.

While he spoke, he worked through the papers, barely reading any of it.

"Keeps me entertained," Loki answered, shrugging. "Sometimes you'll find some bad shit but that's when you turn it off and go do something else. There's just nothing good about watching some guy bang a woman with a mustache."

Ronon's brows furrowed. "It's not part of room service?"

Loki almost started laughing until he realized the guy was serious.

"There is no fucking room service here," Loki said. "You're on your own."

Sighing, Ronon had known at some point he'd be making stew of dramosk again. At least this time he knew he could acquire better salt. "Guess it's back to hunting. How often you go out?"

"...go out to hunt?" Loki asked incredulously. "Fucking never, man. Why do I need to go hunting?"

"Fresh meat," Ronon said, with the tone of 'this is obvious, wtf is wrong with you?' "For meals."

This is what happened when a man went from having a girlfriend to being a Runner to living on a military base to living in a hotel.

"Buddy, go to the fucking store," Loki said, eyes wide. "They have fresh meat and it's prepackage and everything. Someone else does the killing for you and you just get the benefits."

"Doesn't that take the fun out of it?" Ronon wondered, finishing up his paperwork and sliding it back toward Loki. "Earth is weird."

"Gives you more time to do other stuff," Loki said and slid the keys to the basement across to Ronon. "If you're so stuck on hunting though, do it on the mainland. I don't need to hear whining from certain Higher Up's about the senseless killing of a goddamn bunny."

"Is it senseless if I eat it?" Ronon asked, suddenly in the mood for a little barbecued rabbit.

"Yes," Loki said even though he had no fucking clue. "Go vegetarian, man. You'll be healthier and cleaner."

Because he's around and oh so willing to chat.
