Coyote totally hadn't spent all of yesterday as a hedgehog pretending to be a loofah in a girls' locker room on the mainland.

Coyote had managed to find a gothic dreamcatcher.

He wasn't sure what "gothic" was, but he thought the black and red motif was rather fetching.

He is, naturally, shirtless. And still smelling faintly soapy.

Now that Daisy was starting to get settled in, she could focus on acquiring a few basic essentials for herself. She'd been pleased to know that there was an assumingly traditional herbal medicine shop of sorts on the island, because those were usually the place to go to get the basic tenants of her health and vitamin regime.

She had to admit to wondering where the help she had located had mislocated his shirt, but she couldn't admit that she really minded. "'Cuse me," she said, pulling out her impressive list, "I was wondering if you carried any of the items on this list?"

Coyote tipped a nonexistent hat up as he looked over her list, his lips pursed.

He had some of that in stock, mostly for the sweat lodge. He wagged his eyebrows slightly over the ginseng root -- he knew of it as an aphrodisiac rather than a stimulant -- and he totally approved of the echinacea. Some of the others, though. . . .

Well, he mostly just thought they'd probably make her taste good.

"You making a roast?"

"No," Daisy said, with a slight shake of her hea. "Not particularly. Just settling in and the things I like to keep a store of around my place need stocking."

"So you will be making a roast."

Coyote was suddenly rather hungry. Mmmmm, roast.

"At some point in time," Daisy's smile was a little bit of a laugh, "I'm sure I would. It's not on my current to-do list, but I wouldn't want to deny the future possibility."

"Some of these go very well with duck," Coyote recommended.

"I never thought about that," Daisy remarked, clearly amused and pleased with the suggestion. "But now I'll have to look into it; thank you."

Coyote nodded. ". . . Can I interest you in a dream catcher?"

"...Noooo," Daisy said, slowly, in an almost apologetic way for her lack of interest. "Just the items on the list for me today, I think."

"You sure?" Coyote tilted his head. "How about a hat? They sell pretty well. . . ."

In that he'd sold one. That was a total accomplishment.

"No, I really don't think I have a need for a hat today," Daisy said, eying the clerk in a way that did nothing to help her divine what he might try to sell her next, but she still tried to guess anyway.

"Lucky rabbit's foot? I caught it myself. . . ."

Drat. Daisy snapped some mental fingers because she didn't call that one. Her guess was going to be one of those rain-maker sticks. "Then the rabbit wasn't very lucky, now, was it?" she grinned.

Coyote rolled his eyes. "Everyone always says that. Rabbits feet aren't supposed to be lucky for the rabbit."

"You've got to imagine some of that karma sticks to it, though," Daisy commented, the rolled eyes only encouraging her grin. "A bit morbid, too."

Coyote wasn't sure what "karma" was.

"No, I washed it."

It was Daisy's turn to roll her eyes. "Bless, the, if you washed it, that's a horse of a different colour, innit?"

Coyote frowned. "What color is the horse normally?"

"You're a rather...literal fellow, aren't you?" Daisy noted, head tilted.

Coyote grinned. "Oh yes. There's many stories about me."

What? Literal and literary were totally the same thing, right?

Daisy blinked a moment before the mistake caught up with her, and when it did, she couldn't help a light laugh, shaking her head. "Maybe you'll have to tell me about one," she said, with only the slightest pause before adding, "when I'll need a dream catcher or lucky rabbit's foot."

"Oh, I could tell you about them anyway. But they're better coming from someone else."

"...Do you know someone else who could tell me, then?"

Coyote thought about that. "Around here?" He shrugged. "You're all heathens."

Mmmmm, steamy.

Seriously. There's maintenance craziness at my apartment, and paycheck craziness at my office, and closing shift craziness at my other job the night before. . . .

I got, like, nothing done, yesterday.
