Biff was at work right on time for real, wearing a stupid awesome Indian headdress he'd bought from Coyote.

He was reading a book on meditation and counting down the time until he could go home and start up the garage sale.

That'd teach Barney to leave him unsupervised.

It was Sunday and, even though yesterday had been nice and easy, Friday still left Daisy feeling like she'd definitely need to Zen today from the meditation center.

Plus, it gave her a chance to say hullo to Biff.

"Hi, Daisy!" Biff replied, grinning. "How was your week?"

"I'm here to use the meditation room again," Daisy answered with a grin, "so I'll let you draw your own conclusion."

Most people did that anyway.

"You didn't go on a spree and have to leave the island," Biff declared. "Well done!"

Well, it was certainly a true conclusion. Daisy beamed. "Deductive reasoning like that," she said, "maybe you're the one who should have been a cop."

Biff snorted. "Nah. I was more of a lawbreaker."

She was noticing a bit of that in this town.

"Well," Daisy mused, "someone's got to help make my paycheck. And how was your week, Biff?"

"I'm having a garage sale when I go home," he told her brightly. "Buy one toaster, get one free!"

"What if you just want one toaster?" Daisy asked, because she still did need one of those.

"Oh! Maybe the station could use a new one!"

"Exactly!" Biff said. "Keep it for the next wedding, even!"

Daisy laughed a little, then shook her head. "Ooh, no. Regifting for weddings. That's just bad karma."

"Christmas gift?" Biff tried.

"Any gift," Daisy said with a slight, theatrical sigh. "Only charity will exempt. Even if I don't take the second one, still think you could get me a good deal on the one?"

"I'm sure I could," he said, waggling his eyebrows. "What would be in it for me?"

"Food for your soul!" Daisy argued lightly with a laugh, and then she shook her head. "Fine, fine. Let's see. Giving me a deal on the toasters doesn't exactly put food on the table, either, unless there were a date involved, as that almost always involves food on a table."

"I could make toast," Biff said, grinning.

"Aw!" Daisy's chuckle was an impressed one. "It's thematic! I'll bring the jam!"
