Trooper Station; Monday. [ 11/17 ]
There was a new toaster at the Trooper Station that Monday. There was also a Daisy feeling quite proud of her contribution to the betterment of the place as a whole, as well as a lot of cupcakes.
A lot of cupcakes, many of which were disappearing at an alarming rate through the mouth of Ralph.
Daisy was still boggling a little over how someone could make so many cupcakes; Ralph's consumption of them wasn't helping either, but she had some antacid tablets as well as a concoction of honey and lemon juice for the almost inevitable onslaught of indigestion.
She had to admit, though, it was a bit fascinating to watch and pulled her attention from her work more than she would have liked.

"Everything alright, Sarah?" she asked.
She was probably never going to get used to the thought of people coming in even when there wasn't something wrong, which was how it seemed to work in London.

"He's in a meeting with the mayor at the moment," she told Sarah. "He shouldn't be too long."

She liked problems she could point a gun at.

She grabbed a cupcake, though she just held it in her hand. Better not to make an announcement with frosting on her nose.

Going NFB, please!
Which meant, please let me see your files, please.

Hence, his entrance into the police station with a big grin on his face.
"Nothing's wrong," he said immediately. "Except for the fact that I woke up way too fucking early."

"No such thing as too early," she offered, "only too late. What was it? Noise complain? Disturbance of the peace?"
She wondered if her voice sounded as desperate for something outloud as it did in her head, and would be comfoted to know that it didn't.

He paused.
"That sounded super corny, didn't it? Tell me it did."

"Good to know," she said, eyes returning to Cooper. "Although I'm still young and maleable, so if there were any changes, best do them soon."
Although, in her experience, that would be just the opposite of what the guys in charge liked to do. They liked to wait until you were just settled to shake things up again.

He did pause a moment before adding: "However I would like to know where the toaster came from."
