Geoffrey breathed out a sigh of pleasure as he opened the door to the theatre and smiled at the world. Today... was a good day. Today, was rehearsal.

"All right everyone," as soon as people started coming in, "let's get this show on the road."

"We're not doing the play today since, well, it's a relatively simple play. Of course we'll have time to polish the characterization over the next few weeks, but... I'd like to work on some of the finer points today.

"We're going to practice walking around on stage, staying in our light, projecting without shouting, and using the set. Since we haven't built it yet, we'll be using chairs, but you get the point..."

Cal made sure to pay close attention and practice his marks carefully.

Even if he wanted to just kind of climb on the chair set to test its stability.

"Make sure not to turn your back to the audience," he cautioned, but largely he was satisfied.

Amber projected. She felt she did this particularly well.

"Careful not to shout," he pointed out to her with a smile.

Amber grinned and gave him a thumbs up.

"I'm glad you're not meowing out your part this week," he said with a smile.

"So you know about that uh? What, Cal brought me to rehearsal last week?"

"He did indeed. You were... a very cute kitten?"

"Thanks, Mr. Tennant. Apparently Cal thought so too, since he tied a purple ribbon around my neck."

"Do you like purple?"

"It's my favorite color," she said.

She was quietly attentive while watching other people practice their finer points and comparing it to what she had to do.

And, when he wasn't working on all that (which wasn't much), Cal was taking what he could to just sit and relax.

Taking advantage of a chair, she leaned waaaaay back on its rear legs, staring up at the ceiling. Balancing took great concentration.

Alice was here, glancing around for her fellow trio-members from Lady Ghanima's class. Hoping not to be in anyone's way.

Tony sat down next to Alice. "Hey, glad you could make it."

Ronan flopped down as well, wide grin on his face. "So I guess we're supposed to... talk or something, right?" he said, a bit quietly; he didn't want to disturb the rest of the rehearsal, after all.

"I confess, I've no idea," Alice said. "But I'm here, as are the two of you. I considered bringing a crossword puzzle-book, for when everyone else is rehearsing or discussing, but I feared that might look rude."

Eying the stage, Ronan shrugged. "You might as well have brought it," he said. "Especially tonight; I doubt you'll be seeing anything too terribly exciting."

"I had thought the theater would be more dramatic," Alice said, frowning at the stage. "Though I suspect the creative process requires stops and starts like any other."

"That's pretty much it, yeah," Ronan agreed. "Some of the rehearsals are amazing, with the way the energy flows. This one... not so much." He grinned. "But it's still useful."

"What's the title of this play?" she asked, nodding to the stage. "What is your role, if I may ask? And when are performances to start?"

"We're doing Much Concern Over Nothing," Ronan explained. "I'm playing Cecilio. Have you read it?"

"I haven't," she asked. "Is it Shakespeare? I assume any play is, until proven otherwise."

Who is a saint if he tags in.

Saint requrements are pretty low around here, apparently. Tony was there.

Geoffrey sat next to him.

"So have we figured out what we're going to need for set building?"

Who is filling out an order form for a couple of makeup kits since the cast required it.

Yeah, forgot I had the OW STABBING NEEDLES OF ELECTRIC PAIN test after work today. DARN YOU LJ.
