Android's Dungeon, Wednesday, 11/19

Sarah was at the counter of the store, Fandom High Times open in front of her. She was happy with how it had come out, all things considered, except ...

"Best. Article. Ever," she tried, then made a face. No, it didn't sound right at all.

The Android's Dungeon was open, and happy with the extra publicity.

"Not a stripper, eh?" Daisy commented by way of greeting as she made a slight pit-stop break from a little patrol around town at Sarah's shop. She'd read through the article at the station with barely contained amusement and just had to stop and say hi in light of it.

"Well," Daisy chuckled a little, "I was entertained, I have a very clear perception of what this business is about, and I even have something to do once I'm off and at home and surfing the Internet."

"And now you own a comics shop," Daisy noted teasingly, looking around the place with her amusement evident. "Moving up in the world at such an alarming rate, I'm surprised you don't get vertigo."

"I'm not going to come in here next week and find you utterly immersed in the latest adventures of Really, Really Strong Guy, am I?"

Daisy couldn't help but laugh. Granted, in London, there wasn't anyone she would ever even think twice about wanted to date because London PD were so not her type, but it was nice to hear someone else validate one of her big rules.

"Common sense," she remarked. "A bit too much to ask for in some cases, I suppose."

"And people wonder," Daisy commented, with a little look toward Sarah to let her know that the nonchalant look didn't escape her notice, but meeting it with a grin, "why I'm so big on keeping my private and professional lives separate."

"Never," Daisy admitted, shaking her head lightly with a small shrug. "London's a big town, though; plenty of much better fish out there than in Scotland Yard, believe me. When I say that place was a pretty exclusive Old Boys Club, I emphasize the Old. And all the cute, young dics were already spoken for, ferreted far out of my reach, or too damn caught up in their own work, anyway."

"Bless, I've got number two myself tomorrow," Daisy admitted. "Same guy as number one, but, I don't know." She shrugged. "I guess dating's never really be a thing for me. I just like to go out and have fun, you know? That's what really matters, enjoying yourself."

Daisy looked momentarily distracted by trying to remember really when she'd had any relationship, in probably the most traditional sense of the word, couldn't come up with anything, and just shrugged, dismissing it. "Biff. We're having toast. I think. I'm bringing jam."

Then she laughed a little. "And, no, that's not a metaphor. I don't think."

"Ta, I will!" Daisy smiled. "You know, you and me should maybe go out sometime, too. Just a girl's night out, some dancing, karaoke or something. That's one thing I miss a lot; the night life here is pretty dead."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-20 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Oooh, yes, please!" Daisy said with a laugh, and perhaps even a slight bounce. "Just get out, have fun, not think about work or anything and absolutely regret it in the morning!"

Daisy shrugged. "Weekends are usually good." But her mun wasn't going to even TRY to predict her schedule, oh man.

"You're in charge of directions," Daisy grinned since that should work with little blips of inactivity here and theeeeere. "You're at least a native."

"Right side, left side," Daisy waved a hand. "Not like anyone ever really drove in the city, anyway."

"I bet they're a great way to get some venting out," Daisy observed. "We'll have to find the best busy hour in the area and try to hit it before we hit the clubs, for you to relive those memories?"
