Usually it was Savannah who reorganized the entire store. This time, it was Sean.

The reason?

The fact that Thanksgiving wasn't that far away.

Yeah, he was gonna die.

That would be his cell phone ringing.

He picked it up from the counter where he'd set it, glanced at it, and answered. "Hey."

"So. I've rented this lovely little cabin that's perfect for a secret hook up away from fireballs and prying eyes. Meet me there?"

"Only if you bring the video camera."

What? They were pretty much the same age. It was basically a brat-off contest.

"Oh yes. It can be installed in one of the rafters overlooking the bed."

"Too bad there's not a mirrored ceiling."

"Hrmm... we could check out the rooms of the hotel down the street.

"Yeah... if only I were straight, I tell you."

More to the point, if only she didn't have two very pretty men who would kill him flatter than dead.

She giggled.

"How are you doing, Sean?"

"I'm good. And flaily."

"Thanksgiving," she guessed.

"It'll be okay Sean..."

"Uh-huh." He was quite clearly skeptical.

"I'll be there, and so will Lana... and Wyatt, Isabel, Summer and Chris..."

"So it'll be one big party o' trauma from that weekend?"

"Precisely."

"Think anybody would mind too terribly much if I hid from your boys?"

"You are not hiding. What we did was no worse than what they did. Anders was worse. He had sex with my sister."

"... Oh, that's just wrong."

"Yep. So they can't judge."

"Who knows? Maybe we'll all be able to flail together."

"That'll be fun and amusing."

"And drunken."

"Very much drunken."

"I'll even supply a good portion of it," he said. "It's the least I can do for being invited to someone's family Thanksgiving... how did I end up invited to that, anyway?"

His paid account expires tomorrow. Le sigh.

Am enjoying his icons while I still can.
