The Gig, Friday [21.11]

Look, maybe she was a small red bear thing, but it didn't mean Rosie couldn't do her job.

Err, actually...

Perched on Bold's withers, one clever paw wrapped in his mane while she stretched her other arm up to fiddle with the strap of his halter, she was rapidly coming to the conclusion that maybe she couldn't do her job.

Really, it was just depressing.

The Gig was open, though how successfully remained to be seen.

[ooc: my availability is not very, and Rosie's mainly here to give someone a job, but I will be back in my morning should you have need of a small red bear thing or a horsie.]

To say Juno wasn't in a great mood the last few days would be an understatement, what, with all the being stranded on at least the wrong planet, if not dimension. But on her way back to her apartment from more work on a ship that was sort of grounded anyway at the moment, she detoured to watch the animals, just because it sort of made her feel better.

She just hadn't counted on another animal there, and that would be her watching with a tilted head to make sure there wasn't any trouble.

As much as she liked animals and nature and all, Juno thought that was kind of weird. Even weirder was the fact that for clarification's sake, she asked, "Need help?"

Look, you never knew. She'd seen stranger sentient creatures, it was no reason not to be polite.

"No one can say you're unclear," Juno said, shaking her head as she raised her arms to undo the buckle as per the tiny red thing's instructions. Poor Juno. If she knew this sort of thing happened to people here, she'd probably stop wondering whether this was maybe a mid-evolutionary species or something.

Surprised at Bold's reaction, she had to smile as she reached to pet him. "I wouldn't want to wear one of those either," she assured it, and okay, now she thought maybe she'd been more stressed than she thought if she was talking to animals now.

Juno still wasn't sure what was happening here, but this was far too amusing, and it'd been a while since she'd been amused. Yes, she knew how sad that was. She looked into the trough to make sure she was interpreting the little animal right, and- mostly to assure herself that she wasn't getting bossed around by someone's pet- said, "You like keeping me busy," as she turned on the water.

Once the trough was full and Juno turned the water off, she saw the gesture. And while she might not have gotten the whole meaning, thanks to that language barrier, she asked, "The rest of my day is shot here, isn't it?"

Looking at what she'd spelled, Juno's first instinct was to say that she had a job, though technically, she sort of didn't. And not only that, but she didn't know how long it would be till she could get back to it. Until then, she had to pay her way through somehow. Besides, she was getting a job proposition from something that cute.

"Why not. At least for a while," she sighed after a moment. And she couldn't help but wonder, "Would you be my boss?"

Either way, it'd be a huge improvement over her last boss.

That actually made her feel better. The small red bear thing probably wasn't likely to have her tortured. "All right, what else do you need me to do?" she asked. She'd stopped waiting for things to make sense a while ago. And now she was taking orders from a bear.
