Trooper Station: Tuesday

Dale was busy typing up his report from his interview with Tyler yesterday in between bouts of dealing with the normal paperwork that was starting to pile up on his desk. Dale suspected that Ralph was merely taking the paperwork he was assigned and then putting it back in Dale's mailbox. No proof yet, he was going to have to catch him in the act.

After finishing his report, he stretched and headed over to the coffee machine to get his third refill of the day.

Engaged in a bit of her own work, Daisy had another little task, involving a small, slightly hidden Post-It note pad with tally marks, keeping track, for mere curiosity's sake, of exactly how many times Coop went to the coffee machine for another cup.

That kind of coffee consumption just couldn't be healthy.

"Good morning, Daisy," Dale said taking a sip of his coffee. "How are you today?"

"Morning, Coop," Daisy answered back with a nod. "Not bad at all. Yourself? Looks like you've been busy lately."

"Well we actually have something to investigate," Dale said handing off a copy of Tyler Durden's police report. "Last week we had one of our citizens abducted by the military. I still need to have someone follow up with Tony Stark regarding who exactly these people are. Interested in doing an interview?"

Daisy took the file, opening up and doing a quick scan through it before looking back toward Dale. She hoped she didn't look as eager as she felt to actually be doing something.

Granted, Daisy's impulsive, uncontrollable professionalism behind a desk and a badge wouldn't ever think of letting anything else out.

"Of course, sir," she said with a nod, because her professionalism also lead her to easily forgetting previously mentioned rules against that word. "Tony Stark. Owns that Stark Industry place?"

Dale let the sir go for the moment. "That's correct. Apparently there was a general visiting his office at the time who abducted Mr. Durden. I'd like you to question him on who this military contact was and also verify other parts of Mr. Durden's story."

Daisy eyes drifted to the still open file again, and she gave another odd. "I'll be right on that, sir. Thank you."

"Excellent," Dale said happily. "Enjoy it as we don't often get to question people around here."

Oh. Right. Toto, we're not in London anymore.

Daisy gave a faint smile. "Only," she said, "if it gets us what we need, Coop."

"I have faith in your abilities," Dale grinned. "Are you doing anything for the holiday which is not your own?"

Daisy shook her head. "No plans; maybe give the apartment a good scrub."

"Oh? Well I think there's a large gathering at the school for dinner," Dale suggested. "It looks rather social."

Sarah was in early, after a jog and a shower. General Beckman had asked that her reports be a little more fleshed out, and that was what she intended to do. "Morning, Dale," she greeted. "Anything interesting happen the last few days?"

She listened to radio enough to have an idea the answer was yes.

"You could say that," Dale said with some amusement and waved her into his office. "Coffee?"

"I gathered as much," Sarah said, equally amused as she followed him along. "Coffee would be great. So I take it you heard the radio reports about the abduction, too."

"I did. And contrary to what the radio reported it was not the police but some type of military group," dale said handing her his report from Tyler and the going to pour Sarah a cup of coffee. "I'll be sending one of my detectives to question Mr. Stark on the matter to finish the report. However I did a little digging on the abductee. He might be someone worth looking into on your end."

Sarah took the file, reading through it. "You shouldn't have to get things like this from the radio." It was a fact, not a criticism.

"We're just a small department, Agent Walker," Dale said with a grin. "I can't have my people everywhere at all times. Sometimes we have to depend on the resources of the squirrels."

"I wonder if you could get a squirrel to come work for the department," Sarah tried, still reading down the file. "So. Tyler Durden. Victim. Science teacher." She glanced up at Dale. "What's interesting about him -- overdue library books?"

"Well back when he was a student here he attempted to blow up the school," Dale said taking a seat at his desk. "I thought that might be noteworthy."

Sarah made a mental note not to try to joke again. It never worked.

"Blow up the school?" she asked, sitting across from Dale. "I don't understand. Why'd they let him back to teach?"

"The school is big on second chances and rehabilitation," Dale explained. "And I haven't had any complaints regarding Mr. Durden since his return. For a better explanation you may have to check with the school's security officer and the principal."

"I'd have to break cover again to do that," Sarah pointed out, making a mental note that the school was a little nuts. Well, no surprise, here. "I'll trust you and keep an eye on him myself. And, speaking of things I'm keeping an eye on" -- nice segue -- "could I do a quick check on your computer systems? I need to flesh out a few reports."

"I've had Ralph set you up with an account on our system," Dale said pulling out a card with Sarah's login I'd and password. "You can use the old sheriff's office and terminal for now. Anything in particular you are looking up?"

"I want to run Durden's name through and see what I get," Sarah said. "I'll do a quick check on Tony Stark, but that's mostly personal curiosity. Loki, too, unless you talked to him. Couple other handwavy handwavy names that have been popping up a lot on radio. If I find anything interesting I'll let you know."

"Thank you," Sarah said absently as she pulled her chair up to the desk. "Oh, and if you hear more about the general Durden mentioned or this Bruce banner, please let me know."
