Stark Industries - Wednesday

Naomi arrived on time for her shift, making sure that everything was in place and organized properly before she opened.

Stark Industries is open.

Wanting to make sure her first assignment of any sort on the island was a success, Daisy was particularly smart and polished and upstanding as she walked down to Stark Industries. She gave the girl behind the counter a bit of a nod. "Morning. Detective Constable Day." A flash of a badge, before it seemed to flip into a small notebook. "I'm here to speak with Mister Stark; is he in?"

This was always Daisy's least favourite part, because most of her interviews included people who were, more or less, expecting her, and had some ridiculously contrived escape plan or aversion methods.

Upping Jarvis' security was a damn good idea about now. "Can I help you?"

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Daisy turned on her heels at the sound of a voice, and blinked. "Mister Stark?" she asked, with a little silent prayer that, no, this was just one of lackeys because this guy was well out and above the league of people she was used to dealing with, and it always made it a little harder when that was the case.

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Tony smiled, offering a hand. "Detective Constable... Day, was it?"

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes, that's right." That was what Daisy said with her mouth. Inside her head it was more like oh bullocks.

She took the hand with a firm shake. "I'm here to get some information from you regarding the recent abduction."

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Leaning closer, Tony just shook his head like that was something small. Like hitting red light.

"Oh, that's all been cleared up."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing was small in the eyes of the law.

Nor was it entirely clear in the sense of justice if the files and Coop's briefing was any indication.

"Indulge us, Mister Stark," Daisy said, "for our records. What exactly was your involvement in the matter?"

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"I've worked with the military in the past and I felt I would best be able to get them to release Mr. Durden before anything happened."

A beat. "And I have more lawyers than I know what to do with." Just throwing that out there. "Now I have a few questions for you, Detective Constable Day."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Inwardly, Daisy sighed a bit, but she lifted her chin, giving Stark an expectant sort of look. She, of course, wanted to just tell him that she'd be the one asking the questions, thank you kindly, but people were less likely to actually answer the questions when you said things like that.

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
"What exactly is a Detective Constable doing here?"

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Investigating the recent abduction of one Mister Tyler Durden," Daisy answered, "as I mentioned just a moment ago, Mister Stark. We're hoping to find the name of the military personnel behind the incident so that the proper justice may be served. It seems that Sheriff Cooper has a very strong dedication to protect the citizens of this island and to right the wrong that have occurred within his jurisdiction, for which I have to admit is extremely admirable of him."

And just saying that made Daisy's heart sort of swell up a bit with the kind of pride that made all that ridiculous paperwork worth it for just this one moment.

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
"I meant on the island, Miss Day," Tony replied, walking up towards the apartment. "Would you like a drink?"

Mmm, ignoring the important bits.

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
And there went any inkling of feeling toward gratification with her job that Daisy had started to feel.

"It's Detective Constable Day," she reminded Stark, not moving an inch with steely determination. "And, no, thank you, I'm fine."

On television, thought Daisy, they say just give me the facts. She wished she could say it, but she didn't.

"I just need your side of the story, Mister Stark, and your cooperation with the investigation, and then we can both get on with our work."

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you going to stay in my lab the whole time?" Tony asked, stopping in the stairway. "I'd rather do this someplace comfortable."

Though the lab really was more comfortable for him. But that wasn't the point.

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
"All I need is a few details, Mister Stark," Daisy said. "Just a few moments of time. Unless there's even more to the story than we'd initially anticipated."

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course not. But you can't blame me for asking an attractive woman up to my apartment, can you?"

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Well, at least the man seemed to have the merit to pull that act. It was far less awkward when someone attractive did it than someone who clearly lived behind a desk growing fatter of his ill-gained profit. Than again, this was hardly the fraud circuit anymore.

To that, Daisy just arched an eyebrow, and waited. It was best to just not say anything in these events.

Shame, really. He was cute, but completely incorrigible. Daisy was noting a trend of that here...

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll even be on my best behavior," He promised.

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
There was a calculating pause.

"You have ten minutes, Mister Stark."

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
"I won't waste them, Detective Constable Day." He offered a hand to lead her upstairs.

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Daisy wasn't going to take it, and gave Stark a look that let him know that his hand was going to get awfully tired if he just left it out like that. Plus, he was wasting minutes by just standing there.

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
"You know, I could just ask my assistant to handle this," He reminded her, lifting his chin. "I'm sure her and you would get along wonderfully."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Would you assistant be more willing to cooperate, Mister Stark?"

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
"I doubt it," Tony replied. "She's less apt to be distracted."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
If Daisy knew that policework would be this much pulling teeth, she'd have just went right on to being a dentist.

"Mister Stark," she said, careful to keep any hint of warning out of her voice, instead seeming only expectant for the matter to continue.

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Miss Day." He was just having fun now. "Now I feel like I'm being interviewed by the press."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
"But I'm not a reporter, Mister Stark," Daisy gently reminded him. "I'm an officer of the law."

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course," He said, smirking anyway. "What were you asking again?"

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
A small pantomime in Daisy's head envisioned a little version of herself just strangling a little version of Stark until the information was shaken out of him; it was accompanied with a thought about how it was a shame billy clubs weren't typically used in the States.

"Tyler Durden's abduction, Mister Stark. We were hoping to get your word on the incident on the files and perhaps more details on the military personnel involved."

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
"They've been taken care of," Tony replied, starting to walk away.

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
"If that's the case, Mister Stark," Daisy said, following, "perhaps you could have all those lawyers you mentioned get in touch with us with the proper paperwork so we can officially close the case."

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll make sure to get them right on that."

Or dumby some up.

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Anything else you'd like to add for the report, Mister Stark?"

Since he'd been so helpful so far.

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Dinner?" He asked, smiling for real once again.

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Daisy took a moment to remind herself that she really did want to be a police officer, only to have it answered back with the fact that she decided on that path well before she discovered that boys were cute.

"I think we're done here, Mister Stark," Daisy informed him. "Just one last thing...."

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, Detective Constable?"

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
"The name of your assistant," she said. "Miss Pepper Potts, is that correct?"

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
"That would be correct," Tony replied.

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Excellent, thank you." Daisy smartly closed up her little notebook and tucked it into her pocket. "We'll look forward to the word from your people."

Linz was busy getting her own little section of her office set up the way she wanted it and trying to get used to this place.

Taking a break from her oranization she started looking at various places to live on the island.
