MHA Poolside, Saturday Evening

Even though the weather was only going to get chillier, Loki figured that shouldn't stop anyone from actually being outside. It was just a little cold and that was taken care of with a jacket and some good socks. Anybody who complained hadn't seen real cold.

So, he was out there, having bought a few of those portable, pretentious looking outdoor lights to install around the pool. Not that he minded the dark but he didn't want anyone to fall over him where he was sprawled across a chair.

There was a cooler under his feet (he wasn't partaking) and a blanket over his legs (it was nice, okay?) and he was trying to find stars behind the clouds. He'd thought of just going flying but postponed that for a better night.

Maybe later he'd actually go into the pool. Might be fun.

[I spent all day at work and I wanted to punch the world. So, open, yes. It always said Saturday. Ahem.]

It was a weekend, so, of course Daisy was going out, but lights around the pool left her diverting her intended path a bit.

"Don't the lights," she asked, slipping her hands into the warm pockets of her wool coat, "make it harder to see the stars?"

"Anyone traipsing around a pool at night," Daisy said, reaching easily for one of the pool chairs, dragging it a little closer, and having a seat on its edge; her eyes were trained upwards through the lights, toward the sky, "deserves the frostbite, but that'd be the law, it would."

Then her attention shifted back toward Loki. "You're a sight for sore eyes; how's it going?"

"Rough week," said Daisy, with a sigh, and that's all she could legally share, really. "And my Friday night consisted of talking with an old man about ginko biloba and trying to dodge the eyes of a smelly old pirate. I'll tell you, that's just not right so I thought maybe tonight I'd just 'get outta Dodge.'"

She said that last bit with her best American accent, which was, to be truthful, pretty terrible. She gave Loki a faint smile.

"Much better clubs on the mainland."

"Exactly!" commiserated Daisy, although she did so only lightly. "I wanted action, not to be stuck in the mud."

Daisy pointed a finger Loki's way, grinning. "Look at you, so clever. Got it in one! No letting one by you, is there?"

"Also," pointed out Daisy, "fewer painful arrows."

Daisy's head cocked toward the general direction of the Causeway. "Catch a cab into the nearest city that doesn't have zombie playing their karaoke? There isn't even a dance floor at Caritas, anyway, I've noticed."

"Not at all!" Daisy laughed a little. "That was...nice." Ah, understatement. "Dancing is dancing. I'm not even very good at it, but I like it."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-30 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Daisy shrugged. "Don't need to think about dancing," she said. "You just...dance. Good way to meet people, and less embarrassing than karaoke, although I'll admit that I like that an awful lot, too."

"We could go," said Daisy, grinning back, and her head tilted as if already on its way down the street. "There's a bar just a hop, skip, and a jump away with a zombie band that I apparently owe an apology to."

"But," she added, "only if you do it, too."

"We'll stop by that store on the way over and I'll pick up earplugs," Daisy suggested as she chuckled, giving Loki a playful shove as he leaned in. "Come on; it'll be fun. Someone's got to make me look good by comparison."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-30 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
"I hear that might actually happen around here," Daisy noted, but there were more important things at hand, and she dismissed the thought in favour of an eager grin. "But you'll go? Really?"

"And here I was worried I'd have another disappoint night!" Daisy remarked, already to her feet and holding out both her mittened hands to help Loki follow suit, grinning down at him. "I'll even let you walk me home when we're done."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2008-11-30 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I'd expect nothing less!" Daisy remarked, grinning brightly and only releasing one of Loki's hands as she turned to lead the way (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/3387646.html?thread=142221566#t142221566).
