Claire's shoes had been stuffed with candies that morning and, after taking a moment to ponder the hygiene of candy that had been stored in her combat boots, she decided she didn't care. She took the sweets to work and put them in a vintage red Fiestaware bowl on the counter, along with some others gathered from the footwear section of the shop. If she ate slowly, it wouldn't even all be gone by the end of her shift.
