The Park [afternoon]

Barbossa was on a bench sharing his rum with a huge gaggle of slightly unkept men with cameras, laughing as they exchanged the gossip of the town with him.

"Really?" he crowed. "So it were a gremlin bite last night? Here, be havin' more rum!"

It may or may not have occurred to Barbossa that the squirrels weren't normally human.

Martha was skipping around Linz as they walked through the park.

"I don't understand why you made me use that room before we came here," Martha complained.

"Okay, for the last time this walk is for exercise only, okay?" Lindsay groaned. "So just walk. Walking only. Walking is good. Understand?"

Martha frowned. "I miss having fur."

Linz wondered briefly if she had suddenly become famous until she realized that Martha was acting funny.

"Martha? Are you growling?"

She was indeed.

"What? They're just paparazzi. My God. You have your hackles up."

Max cheerfully waved a gun at the papparazzquirrels and blew them kisses. "Hello, my adoring public! Your lord and master is here!" she told them. "You may take pictures now, if you must. Bowing and worshiping is also highly encouraged."

"Max!" she told them, curtsying delicately. "M-A-X. Like 'axe', but bloodier."

Max raised an eyebrow at that. "Oooh, nice accent," he commented. "Be ye a pirate, or have ye just really, REALLY bad grammar?"

Max aimed her gun verrrry carefully. "Not for long!" she chirped. "Hold still!"
