The Perk, Thursday Morning

It was not often, really, that the streets of Fandom were so... packed. It had taken her a bit longer than planned to get from the dorms to the Perk (because hot chocolate was excellent, and she was lazy about making her own).

Ino stared out the window and had to grin a bit. It was just one of those days, maybe? First the glitter shower—which had made her laugh, and she was still incredibly sparkly (and gleeful about it)—and now everyone all out in force.

Maybe she’d just stay here for a bit and see if it got better.

Ned sort of fell into the Perk, having jumped back to avoid a wildly driven rickshaw and a pack of screaming kids.

"When did this town get so crowded?" he asked to the now closed door.

Turning, Ned waved at Ino while still getting his bearings back after the near collision.

"One just about ran me over," he said. "The holidays make people crazy in the worst possible way."

Ned tilted his head and catch the glitter, well, glittering in the lights. As he walked closer, his smile grew until he was sitting and smiling at her.

"You look festive," he said.

"I haven't take one today yet," he said and then realizing how that sounded, added, "I took one last night. I'm clean!"

Ned was in an oversharing mood apparently.

"Glitter's better than tinsel," he said, laughing at the sparkling decoration. "It looks really nice. You stand out! Not that you didn't before but now it's a glittering standing out."

"Of course you do," Ned said easily. "The tinsel got stuck to my shirt and hair. And it was a pain to get out because it'd rip or tear so I'd have tinsel bits clinging to me and I just made a mess."

"I'm quiet all the time," he said. "It's not so bad. This week's been...weird, right? My dog turned into a human for a day."

"He wasn't too bad," Ned said, nodding. "He was really bouncy and protective and he wanted to eat candy all the time. Digby is definitely not quiet. He can be loud for the both of us till we're done being quiet."

[identity profile] death-and-pies.livejournal.com 2008-12-11 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't know if I know how to be loud," he said thoughtfully. "I don't think I've screamed since I was nine."

"Oh." Ned needed to stop taking things so literal. "Like an orange shirt? I think I have a red tie."

[identity profile] death-and-pies.livejournal.com 2008-12-11 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Ned nodded, making mental notes. "But I shouldn't be too loud so people don't think it's garish and gaudy, right? Or that I blind people with my shirts?"

[identity profile] death-and-pies.livejournal.com 2008-12-11 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm pretty bad at being fashionable," he said with a laugh. "I think I've got the bad dressing guy syndrome that some of us have."

"So, I shouldn't wear anything with glittery feathers, should I?" Ned joked.

"No feathers," he said. "Rhinestones?"
