Freelance Police HQ [Monday]

Since it was her first day on the job, Triela had dressed up.

This was probably difficult to notice considering how (as Jean sometimes put it) "smartly" she generally dressed. Of course in addition to her coat and tie and boots, Triela had her shoulder holster on and her pistol tucked snugly away. That was a bit different than her everyday wear, at least at school.

She was very careful to do everything she thought she should do.

Unfortunately this did not include feeding fish or opening the closet.

At least she was ready to answer the phone...?

Max wandered into the room and stared at the closet while he scratched his butt. Then he meandered over to the dartboard, yawned, picked something out of his belly button, sniffed it, and ate it. Then he blinked at Triela. "Oh, hey there!" he told her. "Check THIS out!"

He stuck one hand under the other armpit and flapped his arm, making a farting noise, and looked really pleased with himself.

How stupid it actually was pretty much depended on how much she liked the armpit-farting. Because Max proceeded to play "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" on his underarm. And then he bowed.

"You were a little flat on the last chorus," Sam said, nodding from the doorway. "I should get my banjo. We can do a duet."

"NO! NO! FOR THE LOVE OF HUMANITY, NO!!!"

Considering that Sam's singing was probably better than his performance, Max really shouldn't be protesting this much.
