All Over Fandom, Tuesday Night, Post-Radio

Out of the woodwork they crawled, wearing masks and carrying sacks filled with their tool of choice for the chaos and havoc that they were about to spread across the island. One slapped up against a post. One stuck onto a sign. In and around and through the streets they wove, covered by the shroud so conveniently provided by the dark of the nig-

"How do you keep an idiot busy? Push this button to find out!"

"Okay," Red Kite grumbled under his breath, sticking the annoying button to a fencepost, "no more hittin' the buttons, yo."

Mercury had never been happier to wear a mask. Ever.

"How do we decide what button goes where?" she rasped. She sounded like one of the witches from the beginning of That Scottish Play.

She hadn't hurt her voice or anything. She was trying desperately not to be recognized.

That was Easy! one button announced.

"I am trying to think of people I hate," Mercury said. "And then I will give them annoying buttons. Except that's mean. And besides, I hate everyone. That's not enough buttons."

Someone was still grumpy about earlier, yes.

"You got plenty," Mercury said quickly. "Because you are awesome like that. And some of them play neat things."

She pressed one of them, only to be greeted by one of the chirpy songs from Dance Dance Revolution.

"This one would make an awesome alarm clock," she decided.

"This is the song that never ends. It just goes on and on, my friend..."

"That was totally an accident!!!" Wolfman protested. No, it wasn't.

But that button was definitely going on the street right... here.

Mercury was going to slink up to Wolfman. No reason.

"... The black dove flies at midnight," she said.

"But in the darkness, the psychic ruby shines brightly," he replied.

No reason at all.

"I want those negatives," Mercury snapped. "Is it still negatives if it's video? Whatever. Mine."

"It's digital," Wolfman told her. It was a pity that it was dark out, because his half-mask didn't do much to hide the HUGE GRIN on his face. "I've already made copies."

[personal profile] the_merriest 2008-12-17 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Which are you more fond of?" Mercury asked. "Those copies, or your lungs?"

[identity profile] sarcasm-guy.livejournal.com 2008-12-17 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, both," Wolfman answered, with a smirk. "Just because you can beat me up doesn't mean I'm going to be afraid of you."

"Why not?" Mercury huffed. "I haven't punched you in ages, you know. Now would be a good time to change that."

[identity profile] sarcasm-guy.livejournal.com 2008-12-17 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"Mmmm," Wolfman agreed. "And I haven't played any video from my camera on the TVs in the common rooms... well, ever, really. It might be time to change that."

Red Demon, rebel that she was, set off the Can you hear me now? button one last time before looking for a possible resting place.

"These are really kinda fun." She pressed it into place on a 'no posting' sign, then grinned and reached into her sack for a Wassup! button to keep it company.

"They're having a conversation!" Mercury announced. "Only one of them is deaf, so it's kinda repetitive. That's sad."

"I know, but at least this way they're not lonely!" She reached for the next button. It was an endless loop from a song: Who let the dogs out (woof, woof, woof, woof) Who let the dogs out (woof, woof, woof, woof)

"Huh. This would be less annoying if it were actual dogs." She raised an eyebrow, then nodded towards a nearby building. "Think I should put it on that doorframe? Like a doorbell?"

"Perfect," Mercury agreed. "This one's going on a telephone pole. Hang on, let me find a good spot for it ..."

This one, when you pressed it, played an instrumental that was kinda catchy, but some weird voice singing "Ring ding ding!!" over it. Ooookay.
