Android's Dungeon, Wednesday, 1/7

Rain was bad enough. Cold rain was even worse. Cold rain combined with a walk to work and an umbrella that seemed determined to turn inside out every four steps? That was simply evil. Sarah took off her soaked sweater, stripping down to a tank top, and cranked the heat in the store up higher so she could dry out.

Once she was done cursing the weather, the island, and the entire East Coast, she started unpacking a box of action figures.Of course the box was full of toys depicting that Y-Man who controlled the weather.

Sarah was jealous as she went to make a pot of coffee.

"Holy shit, it feels like the seventh circle of Hell in here," Loki said as he pushed open the door. "How are you not dying of heatstroke?"

"It's hot," he said and peeled off his coat. "Yuck. It's not that cold outside and the rain's nice. Little colder and it'd be snow."

"Rain means fucking puddles though." He'd always liked puddles. "You can jump in them, get yourself and everyone around you wet. Who doesn't think that's fucking awesome?"

"For Christmas?" He shook his head. "I got...an awesome hat from Biff, a painting, a tool belt, a bottle of alcohol, thank you for that, and a pink plant. Yeah, I know you're jealous."

"Jesus and Elvis," he said and laughed. "Most hideous fucking thing ever. Lindsay gave it to me. It's going in the lobby."

[identity profile] flipped-god-off.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"Lindsay's suggestion, actually," Loki said. "I stick in the lobby and if people fucking hate? They get tossed out and I refuse to rent to them."

Not that he could do that legally but well.

"You're safe from the all seeing gaze of Elvis and Jesus," Loki said with a smirk. "I wouldn't throw you out, Sarah. Come on, we have too much fun together!"

Okay, that was mostly serious.

Daisy was definitely not going on patrol now that the weather had shifted from lovely fog to not so lovely cold rain, but she was going to take a long lunch break for a visit.

"Hullo, Sarah; hungry?"

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
And that would be when Daisy lifted up the plastic container in her hand and gave a faint grin. "Leftovers. Woke up this morning and knew it'd be a good soup day, and then I thought maybe I'd come over and see if you wanted any, or else I'll be eating it until the end of time. I always make too much."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, no, I made it the other day," Daisy explained, waving a hand to wipe that awe right off Sarah's face. "And then put it in a container to take with me today. I'm not quite that good, although I have thought of doing that a few times."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It was definitely not a cold soup day, so Daisy was striding after Sarah a second later. "I could have probably nuked it at the station, but it might have gotten cold again by the time I got here, in this weather."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"Too long," answered Daisy with a wry smile of her own as she set the soup down. "The fog earlier was nice; just like London! Except not really at all, but I could pretend."

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Really, really hard," Daisy agreed, mimicking the expression as she said it, hand to her eyes as if that would help. Then she grinned, dropping her hand.

"Actually, I have to admit to a second motive to visiting, other than ensuring you eat a good lunch."
