The Arms Hotel Lobby, Thursday

Hoshi had her hands full today. Gunther was up to his old tricks again, trying to steal her specials board and put up his own menu. Hoshi wasn't going to let that happen, and she gave him an earful.

She may be afraid to speak up in class, but when it came to the hotel kitchen, it was obvious who was in charge on Thursdays.

Jack wandered in for food, as Jacks often do. "Hey, Hoshi!"

It was a good thing that Hoshi had left Porthos playing in the hotel's laundry room.

"Hi Jack," said Hoshi, looking at him but watching Gunther out of the corner of her eye.

"Hey, how's it--are you all right?" He was looking at her looking in the direction of a certain Gunther-y person.

"Why wouldn't I be alright?" asked Hoshi, not really looking at Jack. She half-suspected Gunther to go after the specials board as soon as she was distracted.

"Because....you're not even looking in my direction?" He peered over there, trying to figure out what was going on.

"Is it Gunther? Or the dog again? Or...have... we been invaded by banana monsters?"

Seeing as how he hadn't yet been attacked, he was hoping for something new.

"It's nothing important," said Hoshi. "So... what are you doing here?"

"I..was hoping for some food?" he asked, politely, looking at the sign.

"Sure," said Hoshi. "GUNTHER! We need another order of the stir fry over here."

Gunther's response was to pout and stomp off towards the kitchen.

"It's stir fry? Awesome!" he said. "Porthos isn't here?"

The lack of growling would be his first clue.

"Porthos is down the hall. I'd keep your voice down if I were you," said Hoshi. "And the specials board still says stir fry, right? Did Gunther change it again?"

"No, stir fry is good," he said, not looking at the sign. Something tells him this would not be a good thing.

"I'll go get you a plate, since who knows what Gunther is up to," said Hoshi, stomping off. "Hope you like asparagus."

"I do?" he stated. As a question.

Not that Hoshi was hearing him anyways, as she was out of earshot.

"What is going on here?"

One of those days where an icon inspired a post.
