Irene had finally given up on his constant phone calls and set up the information feed he'd been trying to get her to set up for a while now. Cable was now following the progress in Gaza (and Congo, for one) through his laptop, occasionally glancing back to see if there were any more updates.

It paid to have an investigative reporter for a friend. Especially if you had his kind of hobbies.

With all of that set up, he swung by the front door to switch the sign to Open, glanced out to see if there were any newbies out on the streets (or anyone else of interest), and then took a seat.

Leto was wandering around the town in order to get to know the place. The sense of freedom was comfortable - no risk of being recognised.

The sign 'Wellspring Arms & Meditation Center' caught his attention. Had Ghani been here he would have asked for her opinion, but as he was on his own, he just entered.

Cable had been busy checking the latest-- twitter, really?-- when someone entered. He looked up from his screen. "Morning," he greeted.

"Good morning," Leto replied, glancing around the room. "I was just curious, is it arms and meditation separate or in combination?"

Now that was a question nobody had asked him before.

Cable folded his hands over his laptop, shutting it neatly. "I'm not going to discriminate against any form of the two," he said, "Unless you plan to shoot up my store."

"I don't have a gun," Leto said, "And it seems to defeat the purpose. Also, I am better with knives, although the one I carry is not for practise purposes." He added: "Are you the owner, then?"

And that was an excellent string of information he'd put in his mental file. "I am," Cable agreed, considering him. "You'll find a lot of people here are 'better with knives'."

Cable preferred his really big guns, though.

"I take it you are not one of them, then?" Leto asked, smiling. "Do you offer training, or just a space for practising?"

"I find guns are usually more useful," he answered, "Depending on the scrape. And that depends on the kind of training you're talking about..."

"The usefulness of guns depends on the how close you let people get," Leto replied. "And the kind of training depends on what is on offer."

Nate didn't like to let people get close.

"Depending on the scrape," he repeated, "If you'd like, I could introduce you to some Askani techniques."

Which mostly featured floating upside-down.

After getting the report back from home, Lindsay decided to swing by this Cable person's place of business and see if she could rattle his cage a bit.

"Hi!" She said cheerfully as she entered the store. "Are you the owner?"

That would make the second time today he'd been asked that one. "Sure," Cable replied.

Linz took a moment to measure Cable up, taking a second or two to look at that metal arm of his.

"I was told to check with you regarding the use of the shooting range," she began. "I used to be a cop out in California and I'd like to stay in practice."

He'd easily recognized that look right off the bat; he had enough experience with it not to blink in the slightest. "Then I'll need your ID and permit," he said, mildly, "As well as some details on your current state of employment."

"Not a problem," Lindsay said cheerfully pulling her id and her new Maryland gun permit that she had oh-so-handwavily acquired since she moved here. "And right now I'm working for Stark Industries. In charge of their security."

And yes she was watching closely for his reaction.

He nodded along as she spoke, running his eyes over the ID and the permit in question. "That's in order," Cable said, and with a nod of his head, dismissed her documents. "And in that case, miss, you're free to use the range."

He granted her something that came close to a polite smile.

"Thank you," she said politely. "Though I was wondering if you might be able to help me out with something else. Word around town is that you are pretty good with technology."

"I won't deny that," he said, sliding his hands over his laptop to close it. "But so's Tony Stark."

"True. But I need another set of eyes to look at this," Lindsay said pulling out an evidence bag which held a small electronic device. "Have you ever seen anything like this?"

Truthfully, Cable knew exactly what she'd come to bring him. But if there was anything Nathan Summers had a reputation for, it was having a poker-face that could beat the ones on Mount Rushmore.

"Looks like a bug," he volunteered, "But not of regular make." Present-day make.

Another quick run-through of the high points:

- Cable is probably not going to sell you a gun. Or most other weapons, unless he feels he has a good reason to. Associated items, however, are easy to get. Mostly because you generally can't kill people with them.
- The meditation room is open to all. You can mod it, start a thread in it, or bug Cable/whoever's on staff beforehand to help. If they know how.
- Shooting range is permission-only, but once you've got his okay, you can come back whenever you like.
