The Beach, V. Early Sunday Morning
It had been weeks since Kevin had disappeared and still Toby hadn't heard from him. Wandering along the beach where they'd washed ashore so many months ago in a sweater and jeans, Toby continually flipped his phone open and closed, debating whether or not he should make the call.
Okay, so he like, debated for twenty seconds before hitting speed dial. Same difference. Oddly enough, the call didn't connect. "Huh." Toby's face twisted in confusion. Sometimes technology was hard.
"Oh, not enough bars!" He stepped into the water, thinking the closer he got to the underwater portal, the better reception would be while his phone dialed. Feeling anti-speed dial, he pressed the buttons deliberately, not noticing the large wave descending on him as the cell connected to the phone system.
Sparking as it connected with water, both Toby and the Fandom Telephonic Network were wiped out.
Oops.
