The Lighthouse Tuesday January 20

Snow fall was pretty. Unless you had to trudge through it. It wasn't so bad when he'd first set out, but by the time he got to the lighthouse, he'd thoroughly had enough.

Houston was feeling much the same. The dog had run through snow drifts, chased snowflakes and had a good old time until he started to feel the cold. Then he was less than a happy dog and looking at Murdock like 'c'mon, aren't we there yet? it's cold! i'm cold! why aren't we inside?'

Both dog and human headed straight for the nearest heater once they got to the lighthouse. Somehow, Murdock didn't think a whole lot of work was going to get done today.

Except when the delivery guys showed up. They didn't like hauling furniture and other items through snow either, and they let Murdock know in no uncertain terms.

It was stacking up to be a long day.

(open! and method rp strikes again, as yes, we *DO* have snow down here today. I blame you all.)

Mr. Twain had apparently missed the snow. Tully would not have expected it, but judging by the horse's enthusiasm, that must be it.

Tully rode the horse up to the lighthouse and dismounted, leading him to the heated shed. "I'll build you a stable later." he assured him. Then he headed to where the delivery men and Murdock were.

"I promise, I did not schedule all this knowing there'd be snow."

"Yeah." Tully nodded. "Glad you got it. These are pretty much the finishing touches for the house."

Nonsense, there was still the tower to restore and a stable for Mr. Twain to build. And after that Tully would figure out how to turn part of the house into a museum or something.

Tully nodded. "Yeah you're probably right. And wall paper glue won't dry any better. Man this was so much easier in the tropics."

"If that could happen anywhere, it'd be here."

Tully grinned back. "Glad to hear it. Me I'm thinking I'll wait till spring to try my luck up there again."

It had been a long time since he'd done any romancing in the cold. Or, at all.

"There's a few possibilities." Tully admitted.

"That much I remember." Tully snickered.

"I'll keep that in mind." He decided tomorrow he might have to go to Caritas and see who was about.

Tully shook his head helplessly. "I don't know, this weather's got things stymied for a bit. Some of the furniture needs to actually be assembled." he suggested. There was about an equal split between actual antiques, and replicas.
