Cafe Fina, Tuesday

Everyone at Café Fina was glued to the television today, especially Lion-o. The lord of the Thundercats had a coronation ceremony, but his father's had taken place before Lion-o was born. He found the inauguration fascinating to watch.

"Lion-o! Hi! There's snow!" Momoko didn't bounce into the Cafe due to the snow, but she was still cheery. "Snow!" She stood near the door and brushed off the fluffy white flakes.

"Yeah, I saw it!" said Lion-o, looking away from the TV. "It was really cold, too. Do you think it will snow all day?"

"I hope so! And it's not showing any sign of slowing down," Momoko grinned as she finished dusting herself off and moved to sit in a chair near Lion-o. "But I haven't listened to the weather. It certainly feels like it could last!"

"I hope so. I've never really seen a lot of snow before. It doesn't really snow on Thundera," said Lion-o.

"Ah! No snow? On your whole WORLD?" Momoko's eyes grew big.

"Pretty much. It's all volcanic, so it's way too hot for snow," explained Lion-o. "I guess you might get some on the highest mountain tops, but I've never seen it."

A whole world without snow? He's never seen snow? Wow!

"Wow! I guess it must seem pretty weird to you, then, huh? White things falling from the sky? Well, it's really fun so long as not too much falls. Then it gets to be a pain. Or if it stays too long. And if it gets really cold it might turn to ice, which is slippery and you can fall if you're not careful. But there's a whole bunch of stuff you can do in the snow so it's fun!"

"I'll definitely have to have some fun with it, then," said Lion-o, grinning.

"Yes! Like snowball fights and making snowmen and ice skating! Although I don't know if they have a skating rink here." She noticed the TV blink to a cheering crowd and raised an eyebrow. "What are you watching, by the way?"

"I don't think I've seen an ice rink," said Lion-o. "And I'm watching the new president. He's going to be inau... ingar... sworn in."

"New president? The American one? Didn't they already do that back in November?" Momoko stared at the screen. "Which one is he?"

"He's that one right in the front," said Lion-o. "I'm not exactly sure how the whole thing works, but I know that on Thundera, even the hereditary lord of the Thundercats has to go through a series of trials before going through the coronation ceremony. Maybe this president had to do the same thing."

"Trials? Like, they arrested him?! Already? What did he do?" Wow. American politicians worked fast!

"That is something I'm not to clear on yet," said Lion-o. "Even on Thundera, they won't tell me what the trials of anointment are supposed to be about."
