Only a fool would have made a deal with Dōjima about a 'little' get-together for ice cream for his birthday and expect for it to actually be 'little.'

And, sometimes, Cal Stephanides was undoubtedly a fool.

Today was no exception. More optimistic lately than usual, here he thought it would actually be just a small little thing with the usual suspects (Dōjima, of course, Ino probably; Dōjima might drag in Romeo, and maybe a few other mutual friends), but nooooo.

And there were streamers and balloons calling attention to the whole affair. Great...

"At least I get ice cream out of this," he found himself muttering as he walked through the door, blinking at the party already underway.
