Taste of Thai [Tuesday, Evening]

It had been way too long since Angela had done Thai, and the fact Hannibal had never had it made this a great choice as far as she was concerned. Could have done without the walk through the freezing cold to get to the place, but even then she didn't really care all that much she couldn't really feel her face and hands.

You might get the impression she was looking forward to tonight.

"I still can't believe you've never had this," she said. "So deprived."

[[Angela's there with Hannibal, obviously, but it's a public place and open for whatever Thai food needs people might have!]]

"I lived off burgers and fries," he said. "I don't think we even had a Thai place where I'm from."

"And this is why I'm here to encourage you in the cultural diversity," she said, grinning at him. "It'll be worth it."

"And you wouldn't lead me wrong," he said, slanting a glance at her just to make sure.

"Of course not!" Angela claimed. "And there's really not too far wrong you can go with this anyway." So long as you weren't anti-spicy food, anyway.

"I just don't wanna end up eating a buffalo's ass or something," he said.

"I will not let you eat buffalo ass," she assured him with a laugh. "I promise."

"And that's why I like you," he aid, nodding. "Because I would never live that down."

"They put English translations on menus, even when you're actually in Thailand," Angela said. "So I think you'd probably manage to avoid that even without my help."

"Oh, there is English?" Hannibal asked. "I was prepared to just point and pray."

"I have come across things labeled 'no-name'," she shared. "And even I'm not sure what that's supposed to be. But otherwise, pretty easy to navigate."

"And you can always give me recommendations," Hannibal decided.

"I am here and willing to share my awesome knowledge," she said cheerfully. "How do you like spicy things?"

"As long as they don't set my mouth on fire, I can do as spicy as I need to," he said, nodding. "Just avoid the flames coming from my mouth hotness."

Angela nodded, grinning across at him. "No mouth burning hotness. Got it."

"Okay, then I think I am ready to open the menu," he said and did so to peruse the selection.

"And it isn't as scary foreign as it could be, right?" she teased with a grin, following suit herself.

"Pig Latin is foreign to a guy that's never left the country," he replied with a laugh.

"Okay, well that's foreign even to some of us that have," Angela pointed out.

"What's good, then?" Hannibal asked. "I don't see like steak or anything so I have to go with your recommendation."

Angela skimmed the menu a moment longer. "Maybe Pad Thai," she suggested. "It's one of those you can't really do wrong with... Mostly noodles."

"As long as you're not allergic to anything. You aren't, are you?" Best to check. That would be a downer on the evening.

"I'm allergic to dull things," he said and smirked.

"Then that's my recommendation, and I guess I'd better keep you well entertained," she said, smirking right back at him.

"It's got a flavor to it, right?" he asked curiously. "It's not just noodles?"

"There's flavour," she assured him. "Beansprouts, and meat and other things in there too."

"If it didn't have that, it might be boring, you'd get allergies, and I'd have failed in my main objective here."

"Beansprouts?" He looked a little wary. "That sounds healthy."
