So, she still had that vaguely sore throat from yesterday, but tea instead of hot chocolate totally helped make that better and the best part was? She was still dorkishly pleased about Monday.

Ino swept, and cleaned, fussing with her plants and babbling nonsense at them. (Shut up, they appreciated it, okay?) Then she flopped down in Cable-san’s chair and settled into studying with one of her notebooks.

Romeo needed girl advice.

Ino was a girl.

However, Ino was a girl who worked around shiny guns Romeo liked to look at, which was why his progress toward actually asking her anything relevant was delayed by his need to stare at the newest handguns on display. "That one looks as if it could take out a whole squadron," he noted reverently. "And hello!"

Ino was more than happy to give advice! Whether or not it was useful depended entirely on why it was needed. Er, yeah.

She grinned at what he said. "Doesn't it? They're so pretty, but Cable-san would never let us buy them." True. So sad, but true. "And hi!"

And that was Ino bouncing over to try and hug him.

"Damned Cable," Romeo said, though he didn't sound especially upset. He blinked down at her even as he automatically welcomed the hug. "What's this for?"

"Because I'm in a good mood?" Ino blinked up at him. "Do I need another reason?"

"No, but I'm not used to getting hugs just for walking in the room," Romeo countered. "I'm hardly objecting. I'm glad you're in a good mood."

"You should totally get hugs just for walking into rooms," Ino declared impishly. "Just for the expression on your face the first time someone you didn't know hugged you on sight! Oooooh, what if attracting hugs was a super power?"

Yeah. Nonsense level: high.

"It would be a pretty weak superpower," Romeo said, because he just had to take it seriously for the moment. "Unless, perhaps, you could get the enemy to hug you so everyone else would get away."

"...that'd be an awfully depressing end to you in that case, I think," she mused. "'Less the super power gave them warm and fuzzy feelings along with the hug. Oh! So maybe make it a power to bring peace 'long as there's physical contact?"

"That would be good as long as the bad guys weren't too repulsive, I think," Romeo said. "Though I suppose hugging an ogre would be worth it to keep your head."

"I'd get enormously fat, if that were my power," Romeo commented. "That way I could force more people to be peaceful, with little effort."

There was a knock at the door, but as it was a business he made his way in before he got a response.

"Ino? I've brought lunch. Hopefully early enough."

That didn't change the fact that the glance she gave him was slightly cool. "Early enough, I guess."

"As long as you've not eaten yet," he said, moving right along, "I suppose it's early enough. Chicken chili, tofu curry, or just a chocolate roll?"

He put the bag down and leaned on the counter.

"I'd point out that you've got work and this might take longer than it ought," she said, raising her chin imperiously.

"I've got a lunch hour, which I've taken to come see you," he said in reply.

"If it takes longer than that, I'll talk to my employer."

"Oh," she drawled, eyes glinting. "So I'm special today, or will you be going and seeing Amber and everyone else during lunch as well?"

"I'll see Amber later," he answered with a breath out, not quite a huff or a snort but something softer that indicated not unease but something closer to exasperation, "right now, I came to see you. I don't usually spend my lunch hour anywhere else. The other day was a bit of an odd circumstance."

"Mmmm," she said, looking not impressed. "Because, of course, someone you see nearly daily is completely not worth mentioning any more than an arm to your sister. I understand."
