Lion-o wasn't sure what he said, but it definitely pissed off one of the spoons. The spoon ran to tell a fork, the fork told a plate, the plate told a knife, and so on until none of the flatware was talking to him.

So Lion-o was sitting off by himself while Snarf acted as a go-between with the rest of the staff.
